Garfield Guest House - Zdjęcia
Co mówią ludzie
The most outstanding feature of Garfield Guest House is the staff, all
of whom are friendly, flexible, and helpful. A close second is the
delicious and generous breakfast, with locally sourced sausages and
salmon, several menu choices each morning including vegan and vegetarian
options. Buses to Old Town, New Town, and Leith stop within a few steps
of Garfield, and those places are all relatively walkable as well --
within about 2 miles. Within half a mile, there are a few takeaway
restaurants,. wszystkie opinie »
Martin and Michelle were absolutely amazing! Really easy going and
friendly. They went above and beyond to help us with our trip and to
make sure we were comfortable with our stay. The breakfasts were great
and they even made other guest's meals that weren't even on the
menu!! They both work really hard and long hours and always have a smile
on their faces. They made the start of our trip to Edinburgh.
It's close enough to walk to city centre. Fantastic view out of the front. You can see the castle, volcano and cityscape. Super friendly staff who are just wonderful. Great food. You can even try a bit of haggis if you so desire. It is quite tasty. Great advice on things to see and do. Easy transportation with a bus stop right outside. Very worth the good price and a wonderful stay.
Very comfortable room, excellent bed, very restful.
Location good for cycle tracks, walking and only 35 mins walk from Edinburgh centre. Close to Leith. Lovely area for looking at houses; relatively close to RY Britannia. Nice views south to the city and Pentland Hills from Breakfast room.
Bus routes fine, bus stops close by. Would have been pleased to stay longer.
The terrific welcome from the lovely hostess Michelle, who couldn't have been more friendly or helpful.
The upgrade to the great family room with the magic view of Edinburgh Castle.
A wonderful bed and breakfast where we were made to feel very welcome.
Had a wonderful stay here. Breakfast is fabulous, the facilities are clean and the staff were the friendliest people I've met in all my travelling. Lovely views of the castle and a short drive into the centre.
Very friendly and efficiently run. Excellent breakfasts with a good choice from the menu. Good sound proofing in rooms so couldn't hear other guests. Good location near Botanic Gardens.
Friendly staff, easy bus route into town/airport anywhere.
Great breakfast.

Good tea and coffee in the room.

Connected well with bus routes into central edinburgh.

breakfast, sooo good.
Staff, food, view.
Everything!. The room was quiet and comfortable and the owner friendly and welcoming.
Michelle was very friendly and helpfull, beautiful views of the city.
Staff friendly once we got to see them.
Hosts were fantastic.
Nothing really to be honest. Everything was what it was for the price
and advertisement. No fancy thrills or frills just basic. I'm not a
fussy traveller but for those who require a bit more luxury it may not
be for them.
Having to pay charge for credit or debit card payment.
No radio available via the TV, (should have brought my own)
Would have liked porridge and more cereals at breakfast.
Nothing.
It was all really great! Thank you so much!.
Air conditioner in bathroom didn't switch off for about half an hour after light was swtiched off. Could hear slight humming noise in my room all night - possibly above a boiler?.
Towels were a little tired. So minor considering everything else was great.
nothing.
Outside the room bathroom.
all was good.
room a bit hot.
Didnot realize it was on a busy street. Next time will ask for room in back.
the room is quite cold at night. We have been in August so no radiator. the bathroom does not have a separated wet and dry area.
Wasn't aware of having to request an early check-out. I was on a course and had to be up early. After leaving my breakfast request the afternoon before there was still nobody around in the morning. Although I did manage to get something eventually. Also, there was no hot water in the evening to have a shower, again, no-one around to help with the problem.
It appeared that a previous occupant had smoked in the room leaving a fusty smell behind.
toilet ,small, got very wet on the floor after shower and soggy feet when having to use toilet after shower had been used.
The noise from the street at night when the window was open. Very small room.
Small room , with wood floor!.
Nothing!. It was a bit strange having to access the room through the kitchens!.
My bathroom was a wet-room, and very small, very small breakfast cooked, now also a pizza restaurant in evenings and we were not aware when booking.
Breakfast bit too early for a suday.
Building in need of restoration.
