We really enjoyed our stay at the Albyn Townhouse and will definitely stay there again next time we visit Edinburgh. The owners and staff were lovely and the house and facilities were excellent and in a peaceful location. Great value for money. We'd also recommend the Scottish breakfasts!

I stayed with my grown up daughter for some mum daughter time before Christmas. We were warmly welcomed- the house has a lovely feel to it and beautifully appointed. Our room was spacious, luxurious and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. The daily home baking treat were wonderful. Service was excellent.

Very welcoming with lovely comfortable room. We were two friends staying just one night but made to feel important.Lovely atmosphere due to the efforts of the owners and it was a great location. Albyn House is now my place of choice when visiting Edinburgh.

The Albyn Townhouse is truly exceptional. The attention to detail is impressive and demonstrated in the service, design and décor, cleanliness, presentation, and catering. The management and staff were extremely attentive, helpful, friendly, efficient and imaginative with the little extra touches which made our stay truly memorable.

Very nice welcome from the owners and friendly staff. The room was nicely decorated and very clean on arrival. The location is fantastic for either walking or getting a bus into the centre. Great choice of breakfast foods.
The room cleaning left a bit to be desired - we had to use damp towels as they were not replaced; water and glasses not replenished or cleaned. The coffee at breakfast was awful - like mud and one day the milk in the milk jug was off.

When paying via credit card, I have been informed, then 3% will be charged extra. This info should be clear when making reservation. Can imagine, that someone would be very suprised when staying more days.

The owners of the B&B see fit to include a lot of rules and signs that say don't do this or that or this etc... The list is endless and is no way needed as their don't do list is just obvious.... Makes one feel uncomfortable upon arrival... Luckily the owners were on holiday and the paid staff were superb ! The location is a bit further out than expected.

We had a really comfortable stay here, the hotel owners were particularly attentive and friendly. We had everything we required for a great few days in the city. Breakfasts were especially good, with wonderful home-cooked surprises.

great location in a quiet cul de sac in nice area of Edinburgh; lots of nice cafes in walking distance. B&B very comfortable and nicely decorated. Good to have an information folder which includes suggestions of places to eat. Lovely breakfast. We had a car park booked at the B&B which is quite a luxury in Edinburgh.

It's a really lovely decorated house. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was really tasty with good choice of food (glutenfree, vegeterian, vegan was no problem). The area was extremely quiet during night time. The house is in walking distance to the castle and the royal mile. There are several good restaurants in walking distance (5-10 minutes).

The owners, Lydie and David, are delightful, caring and competent folks with humor and good taste. The neighborhood is close to the city center, but away from the tourist noise. Perfect.

The accommodations were lovely, breakfast was yummy, the owners were very friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions. The location was great - convenient to buses and wonderful restaurants about 2 blocks away and a nice walk of about 1 mile to Princes St. Or the castle.

Very friendly welcome. Very comfortable room, especially the bed. Quiet at night - also set back from city traffic. Excellent breakfast, especially the scrambled egg crepe.

Welcoming atmosphere. French welcome on Scottish soil. Lydie, the owner, was very helpful upon our arrival. Good breakfast selection, also catering for vegetarians. Very comfortable and practical bedroom. Free Wi-Fi. Quiet area.
Lovely place - cheaper than most 3* hotels but soooo much nicer and friendlier. Real trouble was taken by the staff at every turn. The location is quiet but access to the city centre is unproblematic.

Leaving. You do not want to go after staying even one night. I need shiny shoes to cheer me up as I had to walk away to leave.
David and Lydie were extremely friendly hosts and were very helpful in telling us how to get around, nothing was too much for them to help with. The rooms were very well designed, spotless and the bed was very comfy, not to mention the view we had (room 8) was spectacular over Edinburgh and the castle! The interior of the hallways and breakfast room were very cosy and bright. The order for breakfast was taken and arrived very quickly. Everything about this hotel was perfect, we will definitely be back!
