Very nice contact with the receptionist. They even hat cable internet at the reception and the room came with a bottle of wine. Parking is possible relatively close by. Very nice hotel, with helpfull staff and the best spot of the town!!!I've stayed the previous year, this year and I will stay again forsure!!! I love this place!!!. Fanastic place to stay. The uniqueness of the room and the location of the hotel. We found George and Michaelas very friendly and helpful.i ask for a simple and economic room,and it was fine,very nice location,very good peoples,very clean room.... i like very much the location and the room was fantastic and very romantic......Perfect location, lovely people and romantic accomodation. the view and the peoples,and the decoration........the place and the peoples. the location....everything. Traditional, very well decorated suite just a breath away from the old harbour. The lodge we stayed had two suites exceptionally renovated which offer a wonderful and relaxing stay in a picturesque enviroment.Second stay in this hotel in a different accomodation, cheaper but still very charming. People are very nice, very helpful and the situation inside the old town is perfect. Our daughter forgot her silver necklace in the room. They sent it back to her to Finland! Thank you for that!. I loved the decor of the rooms in their tower studios. I liked the privacy we had once we were moved. nice decoration, nice people. The roof terasse. it was a traditional home used for a hotel. They upgraded us to a studio (with jacuzzi) for the same price. We asked for a quiet room and it was indeed very quiet - and a very nice room. size of room, jacuzzi, location, half bottle of wine as welcome, friendly owner. A little difficult to find. Make sure to contact the reception by telephone first.All the town of chania has parking problem, and especially theold town!!. "Ifigeneia" traditional Rooms and Studios runs 6 different lodges in Chania Old Town. There is variety of rooms one can choose, depending on his budget. There are economic rooms which allow the traveller to stay in a moderate traditional lodge, and there are traditional suites as well one can choose if he can afford. It worth the money for the suites.The first room we were given was much too noisy for us. But they were very apologetic and switched us to a much bigger room and much quieter one right away. maintenance issues like leaky toilet and luke warm water. no internet, and a very small room. hard to get luggage to and from rooms because of steep stairs and low ceilings. our room was not bad but not at all what the pictures showed. The jacuzzi leaked and the bed was hard.staff lack of interest in problem in room (water leaking into bathroom from above), no overhead shower (only handset), lack of confidence in electrics. Everything should be changed, the furniture,decoration,the bathroom which was outside the room. The room wasn't spacious enough to move around comfortably. The room was almost impossible for two persons because of its smallnes. We could only open one suitcase at time!. Ifigenia offers many rooms and studios at the town. I know that some are quite good. My room was very small and not clean and the bathroom very small, too. Do not choose the Port view rooms, the noise from the bars below is very loud and goes on until the early hours. Very old building, problems with hot water, rain came in through roof, noisy environment (music bar). The bed was awful. We were not allowed to stay in the room we actually booked because of our dog, even though it said that pets were acceptable. We ended up in another room that has seen better days.They told us that the room was a luxury suite, but it was and studio,andthey charge us as if it was a luxury one!!!In the web of booking theytold us that they would clean everyday the room, but they didn't any day(we stod 3 days). Very expensive for the characteristics of the hotel.Wehad a problem with some guests that wake us up at 5 A.m drunk, themanager didn't help, told us was our problem. The worst of all was the cleanliness and the shortage of space of the room.
