The booking-in lady was really lovely and helpful.Being able to park our luggage trailer under cover was big bonus.Beds were comfortable,loved being able to make an early cuppa in room.Thanks, wish there were other places in Tassie like it. Good value for money and great location. Really a backpackers hotel but we found it quiet and convenient and had a great nights sleep in a comfy bed. What more do you want for an overnight stop?.
wszystkie opinie » Ideally located and perfectly suited for the one night. Historical aspect was a bonus. Room was well set out, despite small size. Nice to have a small table. Staff was very helpful in reorganising our booking and we have always been met in a friendly helpful way. We would go back again..good value for the money. Manager was helpful and explained how things worked and why they worked that particular way. It wasn't that bad for budget accomodation. The Staff were great , happy to assist. The hotel was clean comfortable and in a very handy location. It was a beautiful old building. Great location for walking to most areas of interest and cafes. Loved the history attached to the hotel. Welcome of the staff pleased to give information, easy access to shops and city center. Location was great,comfutable bed and wonderful staff. WONDERFUL and Friendly Staff. In the city every thing was walking distance excellent for shopping and food. Cheap, efficient, very comfortable mattress, quiet, good cooking facilities. Everything. Having an ensuite to all rooms was appreciated. The hotel is well presented and has much history. It is also situated in the first street in Launceston, close to shops and in walking distance of the Cataract Gorge. A computer with free internet available is situated in the TV room. The kitchen is also well equipped. I enjoyed my stay. The clean linen was only $2.50 extra and a towel was available for $1. . The location was perfect and fits in well for the price.....staff was really friendly. For the price I would go back there again. The rates were economical, the kitchen facilities were good. ensuit bathroom was convenient. The receptionist was very nice. The location was good. It was quiet. We had a good night. The fact that I will not be staying at your hotel never again. Location was great and that was it. The kitchen was grubby and the teatowels were really bad and not changed while we were there. A different system would be better. Other guests need a rev up for not tidying up.we appreciated being able to have our 12 together for breakfast but had to wash everything before use. Thats our only grizzle. Would come again. Room was clean but some of the items therein are past there sell by date. Bathroom was a little small/narrow. Hot water was only luke warm (may have been just a temporary problem). No shampoo. Have no complaints... That I couldn't check my bag in or store it somewhere until 1400hrs - Which was a bit inconvient - More of a hassel than anything else. Cant really think of any bad to say about our visit . ). Not having linnen changed especially towels when staying more than two nights or having bin emptied at all while there nor floor cleaned (5 days 4 nights). Having dryer break down just as I had washed my clothes, serviceman had been called for second dryer that also had stopped working. this was beyond anyones control but staff did direct me to closest laundrymat,. no bowls at breakfast two mornings. Public areas close at 9pm. Lack of hot water. Quiet area, but noisy residents and no staff afterhours to help with the situation. The bathroom too small and the heater is not enough.The first day we live in Queenbed room,it is too cold and the bathroom is very small.We change to the twin beds room for the other days,is better than queen room. little stuffy. no ceiling fan (was exceptionally hot for tassie). Nothing. Probably only my snoring which no doubt disturbed my fellow room mates. It was a mixed dorm. The edge on the cleaning was a bit of a question for the backpacker section. There was leftover rubbish under bed in room of 1st night. My pj were not returned when I accidently left them in the family room on 2nd night. There was a pair of used trouses left in the wardrobe on 3rd night. I forgot to bring my shampoo and didn't realise that the hotel is generally for backpackers. It's an old hotel and in need of refurbishment. My expectations were high because I remembered the hotel from 30 years ago when I had a wedding reception there. I didn't really dislike, just forgot how many years had passed and how age fades buildings (& people too). Reception is officially closed from 1000-1400, with limited opportunity to retrieve bags during this time. it was hot, no fan. Dark room poor lighting heater didn't work Old TV double bed( small) bathroom very outdated. My room was not so clean, needs attention and some maintenence too. Very uncomfortable beds, pillows it was also lacking air conditioning which was uncomfortable with four in one room. It was really noisy, lots of young people drinking playing loud music and I could smell cigarette smoke. At one stage someone just walked into our room. They proceeded to bang on doors when they left and returned to the hotel. no hot water for 3 days. could not shower in the morning in our rooms. had to take all our toiletries to dinning room if we wanted to have A hot shower. unlikley to stay again. Lots of Stairs - no lift to first floor. No handtowel or washer. Very small room and even smaller bathroom. No room service on second day. Waiting to check in. No one was at the front desk at the advertised time.we had to wait around till some one showed up aprox half hour. Room was tired old and not clean. We found a dirty towel on floor wedged in near the bath room sink.room not comfortable.bathroom terrible. There was no sign of effort to make visitors feel welcomed. No money invested into update and upgrade. There was no one between 10 am- 2 pm. We couldn't make it on time and we had to drive around till 2 pm to check in to our room. It was very uncomfartable stay in many ways. Didn't worth money at all. We didn't spend the second night and changed hotels. There was only an oil heater and in winter this was not warm enough. We also had issues with the language and loud noise coming from the room next door at all hours of the night as the hotel has no concierge there was no way of fixing the issue.
