Everything. We got there late around 9 in the evening and the desk staff we welcoming and proceeded to spend quite a long time detailing all the treks and paths with recommendations. All this resulted in an excellant day of trekking which started with an amazing sunrise. Room, bathroom and kitchen were clean.

The room and the hosteria were nice and clean. The hosteria is located 15 minutes walk from the city center, but honestly it is not an issue and in terms of landscape, it is much better to be a little bit outside of the center of el calafate, that is packed with shops and other tourist staff not really worth spending the night close to. Definitely our favorite place we had stayed after a month in South America. Other reviews complain about its location. We didn't think the walk was bad. The place's charm and Adriana's hospitality easily outweigh any concerns about the location anyways. Super comfortable room and legitimately hot shower at all times. Adriana's homemade treats were the star of the show though. I highly recommend staying here.

The Alto Verde Hosteria was a great small hotel, located about a 10 minute walk from the center of town. The staff there were wonderful and extremely helpful, even packing our breakfast to go each morning because we were going on early tours. Highly recommend this hotel.

Whilst the location was 2Km outside the town, it was only a £4 taxi ride and the quite location was well worth the short ride (we walked along the sea-wall which was very pleasant and only took 25 minutes). The staff were fantastic and helpful beyond the call of duty. This is a 5 star hotel only charging a 3 star price - you will not be dissapoin

Everything was really good. Staff friendly and speak perfect english. They helped with bus arrangements.They were informative about the trekking options in the area.. which brings us to its perfect location near the beginning of the trekking path to mount fitz roy.. also close to many restaurants, local pyb and trekking tools hiring shops.

Very good standard of hotel, helpful staff, good breakfast to fill you up ahead of a day's hiking. The hotel provides lunchboxes for hiking, one is enough for two people. Location is excellent halfway between two main trailheads, within five mins walk of most restaurants.
