Liz was very friendly and the rooms were cozy.
The room was cold when we woke up. Dogs were barking and begging for food at breakfast.
its the best kept secret in st Paul. we will go back for sure.
The uniqueness of sleeping on a barge!
Staying in a boat on the water with an awesome view and great deck area. We stayed in the Master's Suite; it was spacious and very comfortable. Good breakfast Liz. The Covington Inn is wonderful!
Absolutely nothing, we want to go back again.
Loved the boat, Loved Liz the inn keeper, loved everything... except... see what I didn't like
There was two of us and the room we had... the 'riverview suite' was just a touch too small for us... had a twin size bed and it was a little hard for us to move around in there... if I was alone it would have been fine but with two people it's kinda small... other than that I loved the place would definitely return... breakfast was great... thank you Liz... you are awesome.
Uniqueness of staying on a tug boat. Great food and hospitality. Very clean. City view.
It was great being right on the water and so close to the city but it didn't feel like it. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The breakfast was VERY good!! We would definitely stay here again.
Nothing
This was our first Bed and Breakfast, on a Tugboat! From the time we saw The Covington we were in awe. Amazing facility and Liz was wonderful. The breakfasts were like something you would get at a gourmet restaurant. A lot of eating and shopping places within a short walk. Several parks close by as well. It was so relaxing to sit (or recline) on the deck, sipping a glass of wine and meeting new found friends who were other guests. We will definitely be returning for another stay, maybe in the winter months so we can checkout the fireplace in each room.
After staying at this place, we are not sure we will ever want to stay in a "chain" hotel again!
We had a fantastic time! Owner Liz was very friendly and welcoming. Stayed in the Masters Quarters, which was spacious and led out to the deck with panoramic views of downtown. But as we were the only ones staying that day we had a chance to peak at all the rooms - not a bad one on board! Such a unique experience we hated to leave and would absolutely stay again.
Location was a bit hard to find. Owner emailed us directions as the location can't be reached by gps. Directions were a bit tricky to follow and which they had included directions from the airport (I'm not great at knowing if I am coming 'from the east' or 'from the south' in a strange city) but we eventually figured it out!
Interesting location and accommodations, clean, tasty breakfast, nice innkeeper.
Modest walk to any food or attractions, probably better to have a car in the summer.
