The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The location was fantastic and we were within walking distance of all shops and there were some lovely restaurants nearby. - I had a park view room so it was as nice to stay in as go out. It was so quiet, which a big plus!

The staff, location and excellent value. The rooms are small but very nicely equipped. 22nd street is more quiet than most, so the street noise was very low for NY. Neighborhood is full of restaurants and shops, subway is a short block away, and there is a Citibike stand right outside the front door.

Hotel 414 was great! We visited in July 2013 for 8 days. We found all the staff to be super friendly and helpful. They gave us several maps, made recommendations for nearby restaurants and Broadway shows and helped us book our train to DC. The breakfast was great! 1.Great location in Midtown, it's right near everything; broadway shows,public transport, numerous restaurants, etc.
2. It's quiet; we had a room on the 3rd floor facing the courtyard and there was little noise from outside, or, from other rooms
3. It's reasonably priced. We stayed for 11 days and the total accommodation bill was great for a central Manhattan hotel
4. It feels more like a B & B than a big hotel which I much preferred
5. A good continental breakfast was included in the room

My room was in the Victorian Row house which was a few blocks up from the main location. I liked how insanely comfy the beds were. After a long flight and arriving late, its all you want and more than exceeded my expectations.
