I liked the friendly helpful hosts. I loved the extra finishing touches,
such as sherry if you wanted to drink it, fresh flowers in my room, teas
of all types, coffee and biscuits on a tray. Margaret and Steve helped
me to my room which was luxurious and also brought all my things down
when I was running late for my train. The breakfasts were superb.
Thanknyou to the two most marvellous hosts I could found anywhere in my

Very friendly and warm welcome to the accommodation, and it was nice to receive an email from the guest house prior to arrival asking for any special dietary or arrival requirements. Room was spotless and very comfortable. Hosts are very knowledgable of the local area and happy to help. Food was excellent. Would recommend this guest house to anyone looking for a relaxing stay close to York city centre with the Minster being around a 10min walk away.
First visit to York, close enough to centre to be able to not use the car all weekend. The room was everything we could hope for and the attention to detail was perfect. The hospitality extended throughout from excellent food to personalised information about how to get the best from our stay. Would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation.
A lovely base to spend some time in one of our favourite cities. Very friendly and helpful staff, nothing was too much trouble. Very comfortable, clean room with a fabulous breakfast next morning, home made bread and jams. Just a short walk from all York landmarks who could ask for anything more. Will definitely use this place again.
Loved the Bentley very close to centre with 15 minute walk and got parking space on street nearby to hotel which we where given a permit.
The breakfast was lovely with local produce and home made jam marmalades and jams.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Bentley guest house a warm welcome from Margaret who was very informative regarding all the local attractions. Fantastic breakfast every morning,nice quiet location not far from city centre with car parking too :-).
the location is excellent, the guest house is very nice and well run with loads of character. the owners were very friendly and welcoming and also accomodating to us. we enjoyed our stay and will return again in the future, the breakfast is a must!.
Margaret was very friendly and gave lots of good advice about York and things to do. The house was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was great and the location just a few minutes walk from the city attractions.
Clean and comfortable rooms. Very friendly and hospitable proprietors. Excellent breakfast. We even had a small decanter of sherry provided in the room which, although we did not drink any, was much appreciated.
