  The Hotel is bright and clean but has plenty of character. All the staff were pleasant and helpful.   The staff were excellent over my 2 day stay. The food was delicious and good value which isn't always the case for hotels. The rooms were very modern and very clean with walk in showers. The location is spot on for the town centre as its 10 minutes walk max and 5 minutes to the football stadium and train station.   I really enjoyed my one night break here. When I arrived, all reception staff were occupied but my presence was acknowledged and I was checked in efficiently. My room was on the top floor, small but a nice size for a single and everything was clean. The pool area is not too glamorous but the pool is a very nice size for swimming and a good temperature. As were the steam and saun - I stayed here for business. The room was clean and tidy, nice little biscuits with tea/coffee etc. Yes the hotel is slightly tired, but in a quaint way, felt very homely and personal, much like the staff, very helpful and polite. The broadband is quite limiting, many words are banned. even sensible ones that I needed for work, but not a real issue.
