With free Wi-Fi throughout and free parking on site, The Fox and Goose is situated on the edge of the beautiful Exmoor National Park. Lynmouth is a 15-minute drive away, and Ilfracombe is 30 minutes’ drive from the building.
Each elegant room has a bathroom with under-floor heating and a rain shower. Rooms have traditional wooden furnishings, and benefit from a flat-screen TV and picturesque views. You can also enjoy fresh coffee and homemade biscuits.
A full cooked breakfast is provided each morning, with homemade cereals and jams also available. A locally sourced, regularly changing menu of delicious pub food is served for lunch and evening meals.
Situated just off the A39, The Fox and Goose is 5 miles from Lynton and 12 miles from Barnstaple. Barnstaple Rail Station is a 30-minute drive from the building.

There is nothing to dislike about the Fox and Goose. Our hosts and staff were all very welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were very impressed with our spacious room and en-suite facilities both of which had recently been refurbished in a modern style. An additional bonus was the lovely countryside view from our window and a welcoming tin of home made biscuits. The pub itself is very traditional and relaxing and offers excellent food. The food and welcome were excellent at the Fox and Goose. An old pub that has charm and quality in abundance. It is rustic and old downstairs in the bar/restaurant area but fully modernised and beautiful upstairs in the accommodation. Our room was up there as one of the best we have stayed in. The breakfast was something else... totally unexpected and will be difficult to find elsewhere (you must try the bacon!!) 10/10 in all areas. Well done and thank you to all the staff for making our stay a.
From the moment of arrival the experience at the Fox and Goose was first class. Friendly welcoming staff. Large, comfortable en-suite room. Excellent evening meals and a breakfast not to be equalled for its quality of home cooking and first class choice of local produce. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable and hope to be back at the first opportunity.
We agree with the other reviews! Friendly, welcoming, good food and beer
in a pretty Exmoor village. The bedroom was very comfortable with a
lovely modern en suite, lots of fluffy towels, robes and luxurious
toiletries. A very relaxing stay which is what we needed. We're so
pleased we found this, and will definitely return!.
We were very impressed with the friendly hosts,the food was excellent and the accommodation was first class. We asked for small meals but were told sorry we don't do small meals.How right they were so we struggled through and enjoyed every morsel. It was a memorable experience.One we hope to do again soon.

Modern decor within the lodging space, surprisingly quiet notwithstanding that the room was located above the pub, facial wash cloths, very good breakfast. A great place as a base for hiking through the surrounding area.
Impeccably clean, comfortably furnished, nice big modern bathroom. Fantastic breakfast, even some nice homemade shortbread provided in the room! Great food in the pub downstairs. Lovely people.

Somewhat confusing TV/video apparatus.
Our room was a bit cold. The heating is on a timer and the rest of the building was hot so I think it was just our room. They kindly put it back on a bit longer for us, everyone else must have been sweltering though!.

Room overlooking road with no net curtains, in a beautiful county but actually situated in the bottom of a small valley so few views. A safe bet for a short stay.
