I was really impressed by the hotel. Having read reviews for lots of London hotels before booking I was really hoping it lived up to the pictures and it really did. Great accommodation, very modern interior. Although we didn't use it, it had a very comfortable bar area. The room was clean, well equipped, smart and had everything we needed for our short stay. We chose to stay in the Docklands area as we were visiting the o2. On the night, as we arrived late we got a taxi (which the hotel sorted . alle vurderinger »
I've just returned from a two night stay at Aloft London Excel where I had a great time. Although this hotel is not in the centre of London, the DLR line (a metro line on the surface) station Prince Regent has direct access to the hotel and the station of Tower Gateway, in the centre of London, is within a trip of 15 minutes. If you appreciate design and confort, then this hotel is perfect. The room was big, with river views, and the bed was also big and confortable. It has a cheap breakfast av.
A wonderfully designed, modern and friendly hotel, in a superb location
adjacent to the Excel Conference Centre. Fabulous views of the Thames
(from river view rooms). My first impressions on check-in were highly
favourable, on account of the excellent service given by Marcello on
reception...the most helpful and well mannered member of staff
encountered during my stay. I highly recommend this hotel...and will
stay here again during all future city trips, on account of its
wonderful ambience and.
I couldn't fault the accommodation. Directions to the hotel could be a bit clearer, we took the cable car and walked to the hotel not realising how far it was. Also some directions from the DLR station to the hotel would be useful. The bed and pillows were wonderful. The room was well planned and worked very well for what it was, a couple of days in London with my sister and a trip to see Rod Stewart at the O2. I will use the hotel again and would feel safe if travelling alone.
The barman was v friendly and let us stay an extra 1.5 hour past the closing time. All facilities were kept v clean, and it wasn't over crowded at all considering we were drinking in the lounge bar on a saturday night and swimming on a Sunday! Sauna and steam room was a nice touch. Thankfully we could take advantage of these facilities the next morning as the checkout time (noon) was much later than usual hotels. Absolutely loved our stay there and will be returning.
Everything at aloft hotel excel was amazing. All staff were very polite, helpful and service was impeccable, made everything hassle free. Room service everyday, everything you needed in a hotel. Our room was ready hours before check in time quoted. All facilities were perfect (gym, pool, sauna, steam room, restaurant and bar). The location of the hotel is perfect for the underground literally a minute walk. Exallent value for money! Would 100% stay here again!.
I have stayed here twice now, and would come back again. Despite an email stating you would not be able to accomodate a young child and baby in the room with two adults, the staff went out of their way to place an inflatable bed and a cot in the room.
We attended the Doctor Who Celebration in the London Excel and the Aloft is the best hotel for this. The staff are helpful and always on hand to help.
Perfect stay, good night's sleep and a brilliant weekend.
Lovely spacious room, all very tidy and clean. Kind warning about window
cleaner being there the next day so to keep blinds shut so you
didn't accidentally flash him. Good location for o2 took a walk
along the river to emirates air line cable car, fantastic views and so
cheap!! Tube was easy to get back from o2. Good location for gigs or
events at 02. Showers were fantastic so big and very powerful.
Beautiful rooms! Magnificent view! Attached to London ExCel. Next to dlr
station (Prince Regent). Parking available (not operated by hotel but
attached to it, not in another building). Beautiful surroundings. Sound
proofed rooms (effective). Light proofed! Couldn't believe it was
bright and sunny outside as pitch dark! Got a good rest. Staff really
polite and helpful. Waste recycling encouraged.
As we got in quite late from a concert at the 02 arena (which is also very accessible) we asked reception for any local takeaways. They very kindly provided us with takeaway menus and rung our room when the food had arrived. On our last day our key card did not access the pool area reception replaced our cards straight away with pool access and were always happy to help.
This hotel was very convenient for accessing the O2 arena (Prince Regent DLR to Canning town and then one stop on the Jubilee line) and was perfect for someone travelling alone relatively late at night as the hotel was literally up the steps from the DLR and across a well lit walkway. The room was great - lovely shower, comfy beds and good blackout blinds.
Staff were great, hotel was modern with water and coffee in hotel room, bar area was great had quiet areas as well as pool table. 24 hour food service shop was fantastic. Internet and printing free, idea area with a tube (drl) station right next to it. Would highly recommend this hotel for anyone. Staff were friendly and happy to help.
A new and nicely designed hotel. Really gives you value for money in terms of comfort, cleanliness and facilities. The location is excellent for those coming to the conference center nearby. Staff is very friendly. Nice to see a "self check-in and check-out" option. There is also free wifi throughout and a printer for the guests' use.
I really enjoyed the swimming pool as well as the gym. The gym offers an extra space needed to perform various exercises safely without "smashing" into anything or bumping into anyone else. Also, cleanliness of the hotel in general. Friendliness and extraordinary helpfulness of staff at the reception.
I really enjoy this hotel's atmosphere and everytime I go to London I stay at Aloft. It is a ride of 15 minutes by DLR (it is a train overground). The hotel is very modern, it has a great room with a big and comfortable bed. For me, the relation between price and quality is unbeatable.
I have stayed twice at this hotel and each of my stays were lovely! The hotel's design is incredible, the rooms are very spacious and the staff were all very friendly. I will definitely keep coming back because I'm in love with the hotel rooms and think its great value of money.
Excellent hotel for a few days in London. There was nothing bad about the hotel. The only comment I would make is that it isn't close to central London but DLR was right there with good connection to underground line so wasn't an issue. This hotel is great if you have a car.
The warm, friendly, helpful staff and the well designed bedrooms and
hotel. When I was overcharged by Parking Eye for the car parking, the
hotel managers worked doggedly to get me a refund over the course of the
three weeks that followed! They are like the Mounties! :-).
I loved the clean room, the design, the speed of the free wifi. Also, I
chose the hotel due to its perfect location - literally 50 meters from
the Excel centre and served by an "own" dlr station (the tube
station is a 2 mins walk away and therefore very convenient!).
Big rooms, nice staff and very modern hotel. Some people argue is a too far away from the center of london, but we used the DLR and Tube and had no problems to get to the center and back. Be aware that the last DLR leaves towards the hotel at midnight.
Loved the size and comfort of the bed, especially the duvet! The swimming pool and leisure facilities were great. Nice fluffy towels and good quality toiletries. Great views out of the massive windows. Location is brilliant for getting everywhere!.
The hotel recently build and right beside the Excel centre the purpose
of my visit. There is a relaxed attitude and the facilties in the rooms
are very good. The rail links are excellent with dlr a couple of
hundered meters also from the hotel.
The suite was really spacious and having 2 tv's was brilliant, the shower was powerful and warm and the bed was the best we have ever slept on. The docklands light railway was very handy to get to anywhere you wanted and so close to the hotel.
The staff! They were so amazing, so kind they helped us looking for
cabs, making telephone calls for us, looking directions for us. Everyone
was so nice! I think that was the best of the hotel. The rooms were also
nice, very modern.
Very cool hotel! Friendly staff, modern rooms, very comfortable beds,
nice bar, reasonable room rates, will be staying here again and would
recommend this hotel. Only 10 mins taxi ride to London City Airport.
Loved the hotel!.
Beautiful design, w inspired, very reasonable price, pragmatic eg no
room service yet facilities downstairs, very good breakfast, good
location to city airport....definitely going to be a successful chain in
europe and uk.
Have stayed before and keep on going back. The hotel is perfect, with great facilities (incl. good pool, steam room/sauna). the staff are incredibly helpful and pleasant. Will keep on coming back.
1- The hotel has a pool, steam room and sauna. (Pool is small but nice)
2- Room cleaned every morning perfectly. 3- Very cheap 4- Perfect for
Excel events literally next door. 5- Friendly staff.
Very quiet considering position next to Excel and nearby runway at City
airport. Ideal for visiting the o2 particulary as we transferred by the
Emirates airline. Would definitely stay again.
High standard hotel, excellent pool, free wired/wifi internet, great rooms. Staff were friendly and the DLR was next door to the hotel so transport into Central London was no big issue.
Room was well laid out and immaculate .
Staff were excellent , very friendly and efficient
Hotel was spotlessly clean
Food was very good and service in the service was excellent .
The problem i did have was not with the hotel but in my booking form. You need to be very clear when wording room preference. The staff dealt with this very efficiently.
The hotel was very nicely decorated and very comfortable.
All staff we had dealings with were very polite and professional.
The hotel has it's own link to the DLR.
Clean and relatively quiet with first class facilities. Black out blinds were very good in one room but not in the second room. Reasonable value for the money.
The room was clean, modern and comfortable. Everything you'd want in a room.
The location to the dlr line was great.
The opportunity to use the pool and gym.
Fine facility, at the subway station, with a very nice gym, indoor pool, sauna, steam, free Internet, quiet, and very comfortable. It's part of the W Hotels.
Friendliness of staff
size and layout of room
Vicinity of the Excel
Next door to the DLR overland rail line
Parking right outside hotel and reasonable price.
I loved the style and colour
The shower
The bed
The security features were excellent, especially the door safety chain
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
1)Very near the conference center..ideal for guests who has a meeting in Excel. 2)Love the waterfront and enjoyed the jog along the river.3)Very near DLR.
Loved the room. The bed and shower where particularly wonderful. I have never slept to well. So easy to get to on the dlr. I would defiantly stay again.
Very comfortable in Hotel. Equipment is good. It is highly recommended if you used to the long travel time, and familiar with London transportation.
Design of rooms was good and modern decor.
Free internet with an access point was great
gym facillities
Replacement of towels, toiletries and water.
Everything was fine, the room was very clean and quiet, hotel 30min to the center of town, just at the station of DLR but you can't hear any noise.
Staff were very friendly.
Bed very comfortable.
Fabulous blackout blinds - never slept so well!
Parking facilities.
Proximity to DLR station.
We loved everything about the Aloft Hotel. The room size, the bed, the shower, the internet, the view, the house keeping and the check-in.
It was so accessible to the dlr we attended a conference in o2 arena so
15/20mins got us there. The room was trendy and all we needed.
Amazing for staying at Excel, would def book again - even though I live in London staying here made the conference much more relaxing.
Very convenient - DLR station attached. Friendly and helpful staff. Modern and clean at a reasonable price - couldn't fault it.
The facilities in the hotel were great and the rooms were very comfortable and spacious for London. The staff were also helpful.
Ambience of room, pool and spa facilities were great. Accessibility was also fantastic as was the free shuttle to Canary wharf.
Although this hotel had everything I needed, I haven't seen any amenities (restaurants, bars, supermarkets) in the surroundings of the hotel.
No room service meal delivery for business guests who prefer not to eat
alone in the 2nd floor restaurant. Take away meals are collectable by
guests in a small cardboard box...which, somewhat, spoiled the
presentation of food ordered.
The restaurant was a tad over priced, my goats cheese salad was good but my sisters fish pie was mainly potato and for £16 (!) it could've had more of it's main ingredient, a bit mean! I understand that the restaurant is not under management of the hotel but if it fails to deliver it will not do the hotel's reputation any good.
No toothbrush/paste and shampoo dispenser barely worked so I would suggest taking your own. The only negative I could think of really.
Not a bad word to say about this hotel!.
The aircon would not turn off, I feel the cold very easily, room
didn't warm up! Also constant whirring noise from it all night.
Very minor for us: Breakfast facilities basic unless you go to attached
restaurant. Limited toiletries for a four star. Just a bar of soap and
generic shampoo and body washes in the shower. (We bring our own shampoo
anyway. Some toiletries available from lobby on payment). Sink is
outside the toilet so you have to come out to wash your hands. Parking
may be difficult to find if there is an event at the ExCel.
Restaurant food not a big menu.
Keep in mind that the hotel is quite remote from the city center - 30-45 min ride by DLR + Jubilee. Not much storage space in the room, which could be bothersome if you're planning a prolonged stay.
The price of dinner at the restaurant within the hotel was a tad expensive for what was on the menu, however the food came well presented and tasted good.
There was that much in the hotel, it would have been nice to have a
guide to show us around! Paying Parking Eye for the parking fee over my
mobile - they have the wrong prices stored on their records and I was
overcharged... Make sure you ask to pay your parking in the hotel on
your room bill.
I was a bit puzzled by the breakfast system, as well as the in-house
restaurant. Effective as they both are, they still don't fit into a
4-star hotel. Though I would definitely return, I would like to see an
improvement there.
Would have liked hot chocolate sachets to have been provided as I do not drink tea or coffee.
For me nothing specifically. I could imagine that it might be a bit far
from the centre for some visitors - you woudl have to use rail to be
cost effective.
The only thing was the price of the grab and go food, it was very expensive, 2 small packets of crisps and 2 cookies £3.50!.
The location. Is still top far away. Doesn't matter if you have the
station right next to you, to go back you have to use many metros and
that makes it tedious.
Breakfast was a let down! Its like a little shop. If they had a chef
cooking breakfast it would be better.
Perhaps the lounge reception area could have been extended beyond having
to sit in the bar, thats how it seemed.
Nothing.
1- £25.00 deposit per night 2- Expensive breakfast and not that great
for the money. 3- Not a complaint but not really that great if you plan
to go to the centre of London.
The only downside was the aircon. The room was set at 24 when we arrived
and although I set it to 18 the lowest it got to was 21. This made for a
vey uncomfortable night's sleep.
Hopefully, the management will look at this issue as not everyone feels cold !.
Nothing.
Room was very cold even though we turned the heating up.
The car park was not very well sign posted, but this was a very minor point.
Air conditioning did not work. The fan was very noisy during the night which meant we had to change rooms.
The buffet Breakfast was very poor and just not value for money at £18. Probably the worst aspect of our three day stay. Car parking was extra so the room rate was misleading. This was effectively a rip off as the car parking was essential unless you came by train.
The fact i paid for a 2 night stay then had to pay to park my car.
Was disappointing.
2nd... nice big tv on the wall, but yet you couldn't view anything worthy of watching because you had to pay £20 a night to view it. Now this I thought was disgusting. This was purely a money making scam.
Simple home comforts like parking and tv should be included not an extra.
I believe you'd receive a better customer review if they were.
No restaurants or supermarket in the area.
No bar open when we arrived at 3.30
Outrageous price for suite in this very basic hotel
Just two one cup size cartons of milk for tea and coffee
paper cups and plastic glasses
One pillow each!
Room too hot with temperature control set so we could not lower temperature
No decent breakfast just what looked like a convenience store.
The paper cup in bedroom, absolutely need a china cup for tea!!!!.
1)No "make up room" sign. Will need to call the recap to send someone up to clean the room almost everyday.2)The wall between room was so thin that I can hear guest next door's every single conversation at 6am in the morning!!!.
Nothing.
The location is too far away from London landmark. Take one hour underground and DLR back to Hotel.
Wi-fi was a bit poor
lots of unnecessary TV channels
loud music in the reception
No welcome pack in the room.
AC makes the air in the room very dry and there is no possibility to open the window.
Not enough tea, coffee and milk in room.
Coffee in room very complicated to make.
No opportunity for a cooked breakfast.
We thought the food was a bit expensive so we had breakfast an some evening meals at the Fox Pub only a short walk away.
No complaints.
The location is terrible particularly on a week end for non-business travellers.
Staff were ok but could be better, restaurant was also expensive.
