Very close to the airport and so convenient - walking distance. I felt safe landing alone very late at night and saved on taxi/mini bus expenses. Breakfast in bed early in the morning on day of departure at no further expense. Fabulous cooked breakfast. All the staff were very helpful and courteous. - so close for gatwick airport wihout getting wet

This was the best hotek we have visited in tis country. Reception prompt, and very helpful, the room was clean, very comfortable and well equipped and the hotel had excellent facilities. There were 10 of us; grandparents, parents and children; going to Lapland for the day. We were made very welcome on arrival, had a lovely meal and, thankfully, got out of bed with our early calls. All dealings with the staff, before and during our stay, were friendly and excellent. Staying at the hotel made getting to the airport much easier

The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed our evening meal in the Restaurant. Flew down from Scotland and stayed at Hotel before leaving Gatwick for Barbados the following morning. Had a very good night's sleep and felt relaxed before travelling. The complementary shuttle service to the airport was much appreciated. Have used the Hotel for this purpose before and will use again in future. Would recommend this Hotel

Staff were very helpful, we had to cancel our table booking in restaurant, staff were very pleasant in the circumstances. Waterfall at entrance very impressive! - Very nice hotel, 2 restaurants, one pub, nice staff, avis rental in the lobby, a little shop where you can buy a few things. Very nice !

the swans and geese outside in the little lake. the beautiful decor and warm friendly, cozy and luxurious feel to the place. also it has a regular bus service right at the entrance that takes you to the airport. great place!! if you're looking for somewhere near gatwick.. you wont get any better than the copthorne.. serriously :) - I stay regularly

The Effingham was beautiful and spacious -- large room overlooking beautiful grounds, like a country estate. The regular-size bus with luggage racks was excellent to transport us from the Gatwick Train Station and back to the Gatwick Airport next morning for only 2.50 pounds per person per trip. The food was beautifully presented and delicious.

Terrific hotel. Very helpful staff and good attitude. Nothing too much trouble. Lovely pool and spa facilities. Separate steam and sauna for men and women. Even though we hadn't noticed that the clock in the room wasn't put forwards, and so we missed the breakfast times, they still allowed us in to get some breakfast! Many thanks! - Absolutely gorgeous place for a romantic gateway. Beautiful building,good size nice, modern and stylish rooms with a great view. Good andhelpful staff.
