It's also in a great location - just a short walk from Taksim Square. The best part of the hotel was the staff - they literally ran through tear gas with us to help us make our way to a shuttle for an early morning flight. Beyond these mild heroics, they also were very valuable in helping us navigate the city, make plans, and were responsive to any room-related requests we had.

If you are no - My host was the greatest. Erol is outgoing and interested in making sure his guests are safe and informed. The rooms are nice sized, though the shower is unusual. He has only seven rooms but had had cancellations because of reporting about Taksim Square so I was the only guest for the first days. Erol took me on a tour of the city. I'm sure I wouldn't have seen so much if not for him. And I'm sure he saved me from being gouged by taxis.
