Castile and Leon Hotell

Really good little hotel. It's no great frills, but if you're too busy enjoying sun, history, culture, food and beer then it's good choice. Big rooms, massive bathroom, aircon, sofa, television (and odd kitchenette that other reviewers pointed out!). Literally round the corner from Plaza Mayor, but not on a particularly noisy street either (We had street facing room). Staff were really friendly and helpful. We like to walk & we easily walked from the hotel to everything in Segovia: the aqueduct (which is only a couple of blocks away), the cathedral, & the Alcazar, and then wandered through the old lanes and alleyways on our way back. Our room was clean & nice, comfortable bed, kind of trendy decor, bathroom with shower comfortable, people friendly & helpful. Hotel an interesting use of the architecture. We ate at Restaurante Jose Maria the first day, which we would highly recommend - Lucy

I was absolutely thrilled with the AC Palacio de San Esteban in Salamanca. My husband and I stayed here for three nights on our honeymoon and couldn't have been happier. The room was spacious and very thoughtfully designed, with comfortable chairs at the foot of the bed for lounging, lots of places to put one's suitcase, a huge walk-in closet, and wonderful lighting. This hotel was within walking distance of our friends' house, so it was a great base for the seven of us. The hotel is very clean. The accomodations are new and comfortable. The staff was amazing. Most of the staff spoke several languages from Spanish (of course), to English and French. They were always friendly and helpful, addressing your needs immediately. There is not an exercise facility on-site but the hotel has complimentary passes to a gym that is within one block. The hotel is not in - Stephen

Great if you have a car, (they have subterranean parking which is great because you wouldn't want to leave the car outside), and the rooms are fabulous -real luxury, and at a great price. Comfortable, warm, with a killer shower. 10mins walk to the centre across the bridge. Delightful stay. - John

Fantastic 4 star hotel overlooking the park. We stayed here for one night in August. Everything was wonderful. We got an amazing rate on the weekend, as apparently - the hotel is used more for business travellers during the week. Total cost was 65 euros - and this included - gorgeous double room, parking, and the room service lunch we ordered. We arrived on a hot afternoon and didn't want to go out for lunch, so ordered room service and enjoyed lunch in the air conditioned room. The - Linda

The location of this hotel is brilliant. At €59 per night for the room it is exellent value. The reception staff are helpful, the rooms fairly spacious and clean and comfortable. Perfect for a short stay to enjoy Salamanca - Matthew

Great value hotel located in the best area possible for sightseeing . Initial impressions are that it is old fashioned and dated but the room had been recently furnished and decorated and was better than many we have stayed in. The bathroom was very large and spotlessly clean.The location and service made up for the lack of modern decor. The hotel is very clean and the room we had was large and well equipped. Staff are helpful and the manager is keen to recommend places to see and eat.Breakfast - Warren
