  it was a very nice surprise my visit to this hotel. i couldnt expect to be so good for such a low cost hotel. very clean, enough space in the room. i definetely recommend it as a value for money hotel. the location was 5 minutes walk from puerta de sol the most central point of Madrid. - The room was nice and worm.   Really nice hotel. Location is exactly what is mentioned in all other reviews. The girls from reception - Maria and Elena -were very hospitable and friendly and both deserve a certain salary increase. Rooms are not much specious but always clean and tidy.   Friendly very helpful staff eventhough they did not speak English and I spoke only a little Spanish. Convenient hotel and whilst nothing very special good value for money and would go again. - Very central, at walking distance of most important monuments and galleries.   I really loved the location of the hostel! It's super central, easy to walk to anywhere in the city, and there are always people out and about, so it feels quite safe. The staff was really helpful, including carrying my heavy bags up and down the stairs and helping me to arrange for a taxi to the airport at the end of my stay. Little taverna a few doors down serving excellent tapas, great beers and wine. Lidl supermarket a 2min walk away.

  In early Aug 2013, it was very hot in Madrid. I arrived to find there was no aircon in any room due to a generator failure. Too tired to relocate I stayed anyway. It was a very hot and uncomfortable night. The following day, management were quick to apologize, gave the first night free and upgraded my status to include b'fast for all 3 mornings of... hva folk sier » my stay. Bravo! If this is an indication of Eurostar policy, I am impressed. - Hotel is renovated and is very trendy, our room was good and clean. Cleaning was done well. We had no problems at all. We didn't take breakfast so cannot comment on it. It is well situated, with a tube stop just 3 minutes walk from the door. All major tourists sites are withing walking distance, Plaza del Sol only 5-7 mins away (Prado musem is about 15-20 minutes, so as Plaza Espania).

  Hostel Aguliar is an excellent Hostal. It is in the middle of the city. I loved that I could tour all day, and go back to freshen up around the corner. I was able to walk to the Hard Rock Cafe' for some American food, but the location offeres many Tapas locations, as well as bakery places for morning coffee/ breakfast. They are simple, but of a good size and very clean. The staff is extremely helpful! The hotel doesn`t suggest breakfast, but there are a lot of cafes nearby.
