The hotel is in a quiet but I believe basically safe though somewhat dilapidated neighborhood.
That said, the hotel itself is as charming a place as you can imagine. Our room had a large terrace overlooking a small but lovely garden with a tile inlay pool.

We loved our stay here. Upon our arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the host with the present of a free upgrade to the best room in the house. The ambiance is relaxed and sophisticated, and the house is absolutely beautiful and perhaps in the best location of Tangier. We love it.

Mustafa at front desk was incredibly helpful overall, especially re: my
luggage which didn't arrive on my flight into Casblanca before we
took train to Tangier. He helped suggest where to buy some clothes,
helped with phone calls to the airlines and shared other tips to help.
The location made our daily walks to the Medina and other highlights
easy, and the room was very comfortable at a great price.

I have been to many places in different countries. Mnar Castle is one of the very good choices.
The Receptionist girl was thorough professional who handled many guests at the same time. Facilities were excellent. Construction was new and apartment as well as stuff was fresh and clean. location is also best as it oversees a unique place where two oceans meet. lovely morning and evening view.
