Dar Houdou was wonderful. It has a fantastic location about 5 minutes walk from the blue gate. It's quiet, and we never got woken up with any of the street noise, yet it's only a minute to either of the main streets. The room was decorated in Moroccan style with beautiful lighting and a very comfortable bed and with great extra touches like a 4 way plug so you could charge more than one thing at once, a fan, a mirror in the room as well as the bathroom. The riad itself was beautifully restored . alle vurderinger »
Small guest-house with very personal experience. Location is absolutely perfect. Very, very comfortable accommodation with great attention to detail - super comfortable beds, very high quality bedding, electric blankets, great showers, oil heaters in the rooms and even extension cords with multiple outlets allowing everything to be charged at once. Breakfast was perhaps the most generous we experienced in 5 weeks in Morocco. Steve is an awesome host and provided all sorts of useful advice, eve.
Steve and his manager Mohammed were so helpful and kind to us. Steve
took us out into the Medina to familiarize us with it. The riad is
wonderful - beautifully restored by Steve with great taste that really
accentuates the Moroccan decorative accents. The room was wonderful with
a very comfortable bed, and lovely cotton sheets. We enjoyed the terrace
with its planters of bougainvillea and comfortable chairs and its sense
of peace and privacy. The breakfasts were outstanding - and absolutely
del.
Dar Houdou is the perfect quiet stay in a very busy, crowded city like Fes. It's not easy to find but Steve always gives the possibility to come and pick you up, even at 11 pm. The rooms are very clean, the beds are perfect and the kitchen (with free water, tea and coffee) is lovely. The breakfast in the morning is very good, you get homemade cookies, orange juice and fresh fruit.
Would definitely recommend this place!.
What a wonderful experience, from the first contact with Steve (owner)
until the morning of our departure, he was always there to give us
advice, helping us with the booking of guide or chauffeur. Great
recommendation of places to have a bite to eat. Very good breakfast. We
couldn't have ask for better. This is a little gem in a beautiful
Medina, thanks to Steve and his team.
This is a beautiful and very comfortable riad in an excellent location in Fes. The staff are extremely kind and happy to help in any way they can to make your experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. The breakfast was the best we had in all of Morocco! Highly recommended to anyone traveling to Fes.
Cozy room, it has a room heater and provide the toiletry even a hair dryer. The breakfast was excellent too : several kind tasty cake, fresh fruit and fresh orange juice.
Steven - the owner, was very helpful to give an advise and arrange how to explore the medina and any interest place.
Top and safe location in the very heart of the medina near the blue gate, helpful friendly staff and owner, very clean rooms, super (rich in variety) breakfast. See the little video I've made about Dar Houdou here: http://darhoudoufes.hmcinternational.com.
This place was the best place we stayed on our two week trip. The place
is great, the breakfast is amazing and your host, Steve is incredible.
He organizes tours, recommends restaurants and even walks you over to
the place to ensure you don't get lost.
Warm and friendly welkom. Very nice, friendly en helpful owner and staff. Beautiful house with big and more than wonderful breakfast. Nice terrace on the roof en clean, beautiful rooms with all the luxury you need. In the middle of a wonderful city.
-Dar Houdou is wonderful - amazing location and very friendly staff who are more than happy to help out. The dar itself is gorgeous, and the rooftop is a fantastic place to listen to call to prayer. Breakfasts are big and delicious, too!.
Staff very nice, very friendly take time to explain the labyrinth of Fez to you, without trying to sell you a tour - like everyone else in the city.
The breakfast was massive - the biggest in our trip and we stayed at 5 other hotels.
Very clean, confortable and nicely decorated room. Owner Mr. Steven is very friendly and helpful. Also Mr. Muhammed is very nice and helpfull. Breakfast is exellent. Great location. Better to be met from the train staion or airpor.
The staff's hospitality, the amazing breakfasts, the super comfortable bed.
Although it's very hidden and might be difficult to find for the first time, the location is perfect for those who want calm during the night.
In the heart of Medina, quiet, restored with respect to authenticity.
Excellent friendly staff. The simply best breakfast during our holidays
in Morocco. High - speed wi-fi internet.
Typical riad in typical medina.Nice interior, good breakfast, friendly staff.Possible to comunicate in english.Staff helps with maps of medina.
Everything was perfect. The terrace room is amazing, the breakfast delicious and the riad beautiful. Perfect location. Great host.
Mohammed was welcoming and caring. Perfect location, a street away from the exotic chaos yet a quiet oasis for sleep.
Everything was just perfect!
I recommend it 100%.
Staff, location,clean.
The location is perfect - good value for money - staff kind and helpful.
Nothing!
But, I received an apology by mail.
Nothing!.
the place may seem hard to find, since it is in the medina area, but you could call Steve anytime to direct you to the place or even pick you up if necessary.
no shelf / rack in the bathroom.
-Can be noisy, but this is not specific to Dar Houdou - if you are staying in the old city in Fes, you will inevitably hear the goings-on of your neighbours' lives.
Fez itself is a bit of an overwhelming place, ts a smelly, noisy bustling city - a really authentic experience and the hotel is in the centre of that - its only a negative if your a country boy like me!.
Impoossible to find without assistance.
The shower had no curtains resulting in a flood of the whole bathroom after every shower.
It is a bit noisy early in the morning, but it seem to be common to all the riad.
I booked the room the day before.
Time after I received an email apologizing for a "mistake" on the reservation, so the night before I had no hotel reservation to Fes .
I had to leave at 12 at night to find a place in Marrakesh with internet to book another hotel in Fes to the next day.
Would not recommend the hotel to the persons who want to know that they have a room available the day of arrival.
I dont think the management of the hotel is serious people.
