The location of this place is really great: most of the touristic destinations are within walking distance. Also, despite being located close to city-center, it's very quiet. The staff there is friendly and helpful. There isn't a big choice of meals offered, but those offered are pretty cheap. Overall, it's a nice bed-and-breakfast place and a good starting point for exploring the city P.S. in car there's no cold water you just need to open the tap and let the water run for a minute or two.

The price is the main reason to stay here, it's reasonably priced in comparison to the generally overpriced hotels in Astana. The staff is friendly enough. Rooms are spartan, but comfortable. Quiet, located in a residential area away from the high-rises. Not comparable to the quality you would get in Europe for the same price, but a good option for Astana if you're not too picky. For the price, the Ulpan was good value, simply because it was walking distance to the modern, architecturally interesting centre of Astana. There wasn't much else that was as central, and in the same price bracket. The staff were reasonably friendly, and quite flexible. - good location between new and old center; quiet area - room was spacious - bathroom is small, but bathroom facilities worked. Good location close to bus and shopping centre. quiet clean place, good location. Location. The price is decent for Astana. Very basic but it's a place to sleep. The shower there is a bit "special", but considering the fact that they've only opened recently it's still not that bad. the staff speaks hardly English. Nothing in particular. It had the single worst shower I've experienced in travel in over 50 countries! Barely a trickle of water, and tepid at its hottest. Horrible. And the toilet rocked constantly on its base, like it was about to collapse - very disconcerting! Apart from that, my only recommendation is to take advantage of their airport pick-up service if flying in. If you don't, it'll be very unlikely you'll be able to find it! They charge about $20 for it though... - difficult to find because it is in a small street - staff does not speak Englisch, but communication via Google Translator worked. No English hard to find but managed with GPS phone and Google translator. Cable TV had one English Channel and ridiculously it was 24/7 of evangelic preachers. Something of more general interest such as a news channel would have been more appropriate. I gave this place a good review once before, but I'm less happy in the winter time when you can't really walk to anywhere fr the hotel. Most taxis will have big problems finding it, you end up driving around in circles in the area. Also the flusher on my toilet was broken, so I had to flush "manually".
