The area is a walk away from roppongi, a 20min walk, and two blocks from the metro. The metro is complex, and the area has mostly ramdom restaurants.
good location for walk, shoping and having dinner in the evening; reasonable price.

It's the best localisation in KYoto, near all the things to do.
I loved the location of Hotel Alpha Kyoto. It was within walking distance of a shopping distract as well as many different restaurants. There is also a bus stop right outside the hotel which makes travelling to and from attractions (and the train station) very easy.
If I had to find one fault, it would be that it's fairly far from the Kyoto Train Station. It is easily accessible by bus though.
Great location (through was a bit tricky to find, because it is down a little alley way) 7 eleven outside the door with CHEAP everything Close to everything! Great sight seeing locations within walking distance
The Hotel is in a very good location, close to the nightlife and shopping area of the city. It is easy to go almost everywhere in Kyoto with a bus or the subway that is 5 min. Walkig from the Hotel. The room was clean and the bed was confortable.
