Best feature is Location, smacked across the street from jr Hakodate Station, Boni-Moriya Department Store ("downtown") famous bakery Don-Q, Snaffles, Muji department store and Morning Market, where you can get donburi, sashimi, and ramen. The Hakodate retro-styled streetcar is on the left side of the hotel. Be prepared to have enough coins as no change is refundable. To the Kanemori red brick warehouse it is cheaper by taxi than the downtown trolley if it is a party of 4. More eateries e.g K.

Ask hotel to give restaurants list for local people, not for foreigners. The food will be typical Japanese style, not only for money saving. Shopping for local goodies next to the lobby if anyone does not have enough time to go shopping somewhere else. Great location just a short walk from jr Hakodate train station. Located opposite the morning market. Also located near to the tram station which brings you to Jiujigai Station, where you can visit the Red Brick Warehouse & Mount Hakodate Ropeway. Clean room & slightly larger as compared to other hotels I've stayed in Japan. Very professional reception staff, especially the Cloakroom lady, who put out suitcases on a trolley and took them to our room. 5 star service at a budget price. No English chanel on TV. nor Engish paper provided. Total isolated from outside world. Staff does not speak English only at front desk. None. Nothing. They asked me to pay in advance which made me feel I was not being trusted. The front desk staff seemed to avoid me, the foreigner, which was not true of the rest of the hotel staff. Wanted to extend my stay but was told by the reception that all rooms are fully booked. In spite of this, I still can get room reservations for subsequent nights from letsbookhotel.com website which I find it puzzling. Standard room is a little bit small. I don't like the bed i think so small. There is only free wifi available at lobby not in the room. service. Not included breakfast. Bed is not comfort. The room have no renovate. It's too old. The hotel is old and worn out. The lack of porter service. Especially with young children. You really need some help with luggages. And I was told by the front desk they only have ONE baby cot to serve the ENTIRE HOTEL. So it's not really child friendly in my opinion. Someone invaded at midnight when sleeping...
