Our wonderful, large room (10 BIS) with dual aspect panoramic views of the bay and mountains. An oasis of calm away from the hectic bustle of Sorrento. Warm, friendly and helpful staff where nothing was ever too much trouble. Charming, relaxing setting with a great swimming pool, rooftop terrace and hammocks swinging in the olive grove. Loved it!
Very little! The walk up from town, though short, could knock the breath out of you after a long day! A few extras in the room like a lamp in the comfy chair area (a bit dark) and tissues. Maybe tea/coffee making facilities. And worth noting that you need ID at Pompeii to use the self guided audio facilities. (We didn't have this with us and had to use a tour guide.)
The location was very good and very accessible to Sorrento. The room was large and very comfortable. Staff were very nice and accommodating, including for breakfast.
The location was hard to find because the information on-line wasn't very accurate and gps didn't work for Sorrento.
magnificent views and countryside.good breakfast, nice rooms ,friendly staff
soundproofing of our room being woken by early morning risers
Comfortable, nice attitude of the hotel staff, beautiful view, close to the center and quiet.
The location is stunning, view from the balcony over the Bay of Naples is fabulous, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms clean and comfortable. A really enjoyable stay.
The evening menu not the most adventurous. A bit of a walk down to the town but that is the price you pay for the stunning location
Very friendly staff nice quiet room relaxing environment
Sorrento. Not many toilets only one central was not very good and always had to pay the man 1/2 euro, and as I have to pay a visit 4 times a day it cost me a total of 14 euros. All local buses.... Have to buy tickets in advance so have to walk to bus station.
The venue is great with magnificent views over Sorrento to Naples. The relaxed county setting, friendly family team and free car parking made our stay hassle free. The short walk to and from Sorrento was great exercise especially after dinner ~ thank you La Badia!
Views, Staff, Location, Hammocks
Outstanding family run hotel. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect and it was. We had a fabulous view of Mt. Vesuvius.
The staff were marvelous.
Not having a bath tub or small refrigerator in the room.
Staff is really friendly and some are able. Possibility to discuss in Italian, English, French and a little bit of German. The view from the Restaurant and the rooms is splendid! Perfect for a proposal! ;) Sorrento is really well placed from all important places to visit (Naples, Amalfi coasts, Capri...)
No WLAN in the rooms... only at the bar and restaurant of the hotel.
The views all around the hotel and from our balcony of the bay of Naples and Mount Versuvius were spectactular. It was quiet and relaxing. The fact that it was family run and all rooms were different
Would have liked the hotel to provide a little more information about the hotel itself and also what events were going on in Sorrento
All the staffs and the boss are very kind and nice. We have a nice vue from our room balcon. The most important thing is the honesty of the staff and the hotel because my husband had forgotten the mobile in the room and the room cleaner had found it and gave to the reception. The reception had immediately telephoned us but unfornately we had already returned to Switzerland . They had checked all the shipping way to ship back the mobile phone. We really appreciate. and we highly recommend others to stay in this hotel
Nothing
What a lovely place to stay, a real find with really great staff as well. I am disabled and the staff were very good and helpful, I can not fault them. The hotel is not in the central the countryside where it is quite and stunning views over Naples across the bay. The food was wonderful matched by the attentive service. I would stay there again.
Wi-Fi only available in the reception area and drops out, I find this a shame in this day and age.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Badia. Marisa and her staff were always accommodating and helpful. It was just a short walk to downtown. The view from our room was amazing and having dinner on the patio was enjoyable. A special thank you to Antonio who always sat us at the same table with a beautiful view of the sun going down. The grounds around the hotel were so pretty with flowers and the olive grove and we loved having a dip in the pool after a hot day of sightseeing. I think what we enjoyed the most was that we felt at home at all times and had such interesting conversations with Nona and the rest of the family members. Thank you for making our stay in Sorrento to much fun!
No Wi-Fi in the rooms
Beautiful hotel with history, spectacular scenery, a pool, gardens and hidden corners to explore. The staff were friendly and welcoming and fellow guests charming. We can't wait to go back.
very friendly staff nice swimming pool very good food, no pizzas. Great views of Sorrento.
Quite a long walk to town. Need transport or taxi.
The beautiful location, dining view and terrace...room with a view!!! friendly, helpful staff, close, walking distance down to town, dining was delicious, and dining staff was very professional ...and fun!..Pool area and flowers were delightful....thanks you all...hope we can return someday!!!!
Our room over looked sea and city short walk to city great food breakfast and dinner All good
Amazing sea view. Very nice and helpful staff. Close to city centre of Sorrento (by walk max. 1km). Very beaufiful atmosphere with flowers and olive trees etc. Free parking
Bed was too tough. Shampoos and shoaps could be better.
The view was awesome! We were totally surprised at the charm and comfort. It was a short walk to town. The staff was very friendly ad accommodating. Very peaceful and relaxing.
It was difficult to figure out the bus schedule from town back to the hotel. The walk back was not bad for someone in good health although it is uphill all the way. However, for my 76-year-old mom, it was tough. It would be great if the hotel had a shuttle, even for just certain hours of the evening.
excellent hotel very relaxing good food and very friendly staff a good choice
Lovely place, beautiful view of Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples from my huge balcony. Staff lovely and food fine to good.
Lovely helpful staff, attractive location and facilities. Great pool beautiful terrace with wonderful views, small but attractive bedroom. Well priced.
Breakfast was unimaginative, fresh fruit options consisted of apple, orange or kiwi. Lunch menu similarly old fashioned and dull. Long climb up path back from Sorrento - no shuttle offered and taxis cost minimum of 15 Euros.
Location. Further up the mountain but had a shortcut that takes you to town within 5-10 minutes walking. Staff extremely friendly. Nice pool with amazing view Beautiful historical place I loved it! Definitely worth it if on a budget.
Bathroom smelled funky.
very nice friendly staff. owned by a family. good location, nice view. we didn't like the room we got .... asked to change to a room with a view, and got one!! stayed there 4 nights, loved it!!!!
Helpfulness and friendly family staff and restaurant staff. The views were magnificent.
Walk down to town.
The staff were so friendly, good humoured, helpful and profesional. There was a very relaxed athmosphere at the hotel with lots of areas throuhgout the hotel and grounds to chill out in. The view was spectacular.I would recommend it.
The only area that was disappointing was that the evening dinners were not great. Breakfast was good.
Staff very welcoming and helpful. Lovely family run hotel with beautiful views and only a short walk to the town centre.
The hotell are wonderful. Stunning horizons. Surrounded by wonderful nature and olive threes. The family who own and run the hotel are wonderful people. Friendly, helpsome and down to earth. The second day my feet was hurting in a very warm Sorrento. The wonderful owner, Maria Gargiulo, gave me a lift since she saw me in the street of Sorrento where she was picking up her daughters coming from school. I highly recommend La Badia! But I do not want the hotel to be too popular. It`s one of my lovely spots on earth!
Amazing views of the coast and Vesuvius, lovely friendly family-run atmosphere, relaxing environment, nice walk into town, good-sized rooms, quiet, stylish (an old monastery), watching fireflies at night in the olive grove below our balcony
The slog back up the hill to the hotel after a meal out (you need to reasonably fit to stay here, or be prepared to take taxis) - that's the price of the amazing view and the peace and quiet away from the town centre :)
Great location overlooking the Sorrento bay with views of Vesuvio and Naples bay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Sorrento can be easily accessed from the hotel by a pedestrian path.
When we booked the hotel we were not informed that the Hotel Restaurant and the pool was closed. Although the region of Sorrento is well known for the Citrus Orchards no fresh Orange of Lemon Juice was served for breakfast. The WIFI coverage could be improved, Only available close to reception.
Veranda and pool area are wonderful. Staff very helpful
Poor breakfast Tv poor quality and reception. Wifi very inconvienient. Need to upgrade to WiFi in all areas
