  We had a fantastic stay at Villa Cheli! Our room had direct access to the front balcony and for two days we felt we had our own private Villa in Italy! In addition to the kind staff, and nice accommodations, we had one of the best dinners of our trip through Italy at Villa Cheli! We had a minor problem in our bathroom and brought it to the staff's attention in the morning as we were leaving for our day's outing. When we returned everything was taken care of.   We stayed in the Residanza-part of the hotel (another building 50m. down the street). It was a large room, big double bed and a big bathroom. Nice and quiet! - The staff were very friendly and helpful. The choice of food and drinksfor breakfast was huge. One review refers to the location being a long way from the centre of Lucca - this is nonsense, it takes no more than 5 - 8 minutes to walk to Piazza San Michele - an excellent location.

  This is a lovely hotel made special by attention to detail. Our room ( junior suite) was extremely comfortable and even had tea and coffee making facilities. The owner is very helpful and friendly, and it was great to have use of the free bikes.   We really enjoyed our stay. Every detail was taken care of in and out of the room. All kinds of little extras in the room and then there were bicycles available to each person at all times.
