I visit Dublin for 15 years now and I love Malahaide so I decided to stay there on my short break. It has the comfort and tranquility of a small (pitoresque) village and still you can reach Dublin city centre within 15-20 mins by dart. The Grand Hotel was simply what you might need: silent, comfy, very clean and very nice and helpful staff.
