The Waterloo Lodge was ideal for my stay as it was 10 minutes walk to rds and to Marion Square (start location of the Dublin city Marathon). I traveled with my wife and our two kids (3 & 5 years old) and the family room we had was ideal, plenty of space. Staff were very accommodating and breakfast was excellent. All in all, we had a pleasant 3 nights stay in the Waterloo lodge.
There is a lot of stairs, so not ideal for disable. I had to haul 5 suitcases up and down these stairs which took me awhile. Even though I had parking, there is minimum parking so make sure you reserve parking in advance.

This accommodation was good value for Dublin. The room was big & the shower adequate. It is ideally situated for a 15 minute walk to Grafton Street or the bus stop for the City Centre was right outside the door (39a).
As its an old house it is not soundproofed - sadly the family on the floor above (including a very young child) stomped about & talked loudly until midnight. Perhaps not the fault of the accommodation just very inconsiderate people.

The location was great, Near the Aviva and just a walk to the city centre for shopping. Ballsbridge has good night life and nice places to eat.

Love, love, love the Waterloo. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is great with the city within reasonable walking distance. The breakfast is superb. The rooms comfortable and clean. We stayed at the Waterloo the last night of our trip and it was the best of 9 hotels.
The mattresses might be ready to be replaced but that's it.
I liked the location and how friendly the staff were. I also enjoyed how we could come and go as we pleased, and finally breakfast was beautiful .

We were in Dublin for a concert at The Aviva Stadium. The Waterloo Lodge is close to the stadium and is very clean, comfortable and the staff were excellent. The breakfast was outstanding and I would recommend The Waterloo Lodge.
The location is ideal for a concert goer to Lansdowne Road (Aviva), plenty of great pubs nearby too, all serving good food. The receptionist is very helpful & friendly, giving good directions for walking in & around the city Clean & tidy - the shower was nice! I would go back again!
It's on the expensive side for a family room, which was essentially a large room, with a double bed & 2 singles! Perhaps the prices are elevated when a concert is on!

Well located in the centre of Dublin within walking distance of most of the sights. A fine Irish breakfast was included in the price. WiFi was free of charge. Friendly and helpful staff. This is a no-frills hotel but good value for money.
The room was small and there was no table or desk to work at. The walls are thin and at times you can hear your neighbours' conversations (or whatever else they are doing).

The staff was very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The location was excellent, having a city-bound bus (no. 39, 38) at the door step. St. Stephen's Green, as well as Luas &Dart were within short walking distance.

The breakfast was very good, the staff very helpful and it was easy to get into Dublin centre by car or public transport. The room was bright & clean.
The bathroom floor could do with updating which I am sure they will be considering doing.
The room was suprisingly large, clean and bright, and it was equipped with lcd TV, powerful hairdyer and tea or coffee making facilities. For those who love tea, it should be added that tea was of really good quality, and it definitely added extra smile on our face! The receptionist we met on our first day was the best ever, and after hearing we were not so great with the directions, she even drew the bus routes onto our map, making the navigation easier. I bet everyone else have already praised the wonderful breakfast, so I will just add a dinner hint, recommending people to visit a small restaurant Keshk on 71 Mespil Road that serves brilliant Lebanese food with bring-your-own-wine system. It´s only few minutes from Waterloo lodge, and as much recommended as the accommodation itself!
I love to take a good shower, but I don´t want to wash my hair every time. Unfortunately the shower did not had a handheld shower head, which made it tricky to have a shower without getting your hair wet.
