This was a very nice "Hotel Garni" on the outskirts of Essen. It was surrounded by nice countryside, an equestrian center, tennis courts, and a nearby river. I was there for a convention at the Messe, and it's a very pleasant 5 mile drive to the convention center. I liked being able to get away from the urban environment to a country setting so easily. Although the hotel itself doesn't have a restaurant, there's a very nice one right across the parking lot. The staff was very friendly and f.
