I loved the ambience, staff, generous breakfast and location.
My sister and I highly recommend Hotel Pension Funk. The atmosphere was one of comfort and class. There were fresh flowers, pictures of former film star Asta Nielson and period furniture. Despite three shift changes, the staff were all efficient and helpful in both English and German, accommodating our requests. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. Fresh fruit was always available. Its location was excellent as well, near public transportation, excellent restaurants and shopping.
Staff was excellent, as was breakfast.
Room w/o shower was tiny.
I liked everything about this hotel, at which I have previously stayed several times. The location in all ways desirable. The rooms are clean and quiet. The breakfast, included in the room price, is excellent.
Charming interiors, very quiet, very helpful staff, good location for getting to the sights via the U1.
Lots of character; it was once the home of the great German silent film actress Astra Nielsen. Good location in Charlottenburg. Very nice staff, excellent breakfast, good value. I would recommend staying here once for the atmosphere; I might go back but I'll probably look around some more. Tat being said, I'm glad I stayed here.
It's in need of some tlc. Bathrooms were added many years ago and need to be modernized but they are sufficient. Our room was a bit dusty but the staff was responsive to our needs.
the art nouveau atmosphere, the size of rooms, the breakfast.
Perhaps needs an extra communal bathroom
The breakfast in a beautiful, sun-filled room.
My room must have been all of 7 feet wide, and I could barely walk alongside the bed. Berlin was having a heat wave, and I couldn't get the window to open wide enough to let in more air. The public spaces of Funk are dark, dingy and dirty; the rugs look like they haven't been cleaned in decades. When I checked out 3 days early, the manager penalized me by charging me for an extra night.
