  The location is excellent. Many 24/7 stores, supermarkets are nearby. Close to subway stations and YuYuan Garden. The staff speaks good English. There is filtered hot water in the public kitchen and they have a thermo kettle in the rooms with mugs that you can use. It is a great idea. You can also find slippers, toilet paper and towels in the room... hva folk sier » . You can set the temperature in the room which is also great. Their luggage room is free for a day. The breakfast was decent but only for the 20% dis - Location was wonderful! The staff can speak english, not fluently, but they will make an effort to help you if you ask. There is a communal kitchen where you can heat stuff up and a communal water cooker; you get a thermos bottle and you can fill that to make tea or something in your room. This hostel will provide a wonderful sleeping arrangement and good access to Shanghai: three main subway stations nearby ( dashijie (5min walking distance), peopl's square (10 min), yuyuan station(10min))

  Rooms were clean and hostel is in a great locations, very close to people's square metro so convenient to many lines and walking distane to the bund. Situated on one of shanghais food streets lots of restaurants around. Try number 28 or downstairs. The location is excellent, 2 min from dashijie metro station and 5/10 min from people's square. The bar on the rooftop is lovely, they make the best sandwiches of shanghai and are exquisite people!!!   This is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. WAY better than I was expecting. We had the family room with two bedrooms and one bathroom all to ourselves. The beds were comfortable and had cool headboards. There was a pretty garden, a good cafe with coffee and food and a stiff gin and tonic, and a few nice people hanging around but not too crowded.... hva folk sier » It's on a neat little street just next to some major intersections. They let us store our bags overnight when we weren't there, and let us in even wh - I am a huge fan of the Chinese styled architecture in Mingtown Etour. Love love love those cats in the hostel, love the ornate room and love the bar/cafe by the little fish pond. It's been a great experience living in Mingtown. The location is great (right in the middle of Shanghai), you can walk to so many places from there or take the tube so easily - the tube station is just under 10-min walk away!

  Staff, rooms and price. - Overall okay place to stay. Although I would consider it a plan B if everything around the peoples square is full. Room was spacious, clean bed, toiletries are provided. A 10 minute walk to the nearest subwaystation. Staff was helpfull. The airconditioning did a good job at keeping us warm. Good wifi.
