The hotel is one of the better one in shanghai for the money. Staff try very hard to make your stay enjoyable. While English is poor from some of the staff we managed to work out what I wanted. I had the bellboys get cabs for me in the pouring rain and did it with a smile. There are two restaurants in the building that are both very good quality but I would have to say the element fresh was very good value for money and the food was fantastic. Great hotel and would stay there again.

The hotel is perfectly located, close to the pedestrian street and public transport, but far enough to not get any noise from it. Lobby is grand, and the open restaurant is excellent, get the grilled salmon for lunch! Gym facilities and pool is fantastic, lots of space and good equipment. The room & bathroom are spacious and well equipped, with complimentary bath salts, fluffy towels, robes and slippers. Location, location, location!
I stayed here twice. The hotel is close to the train station - People's Square, exit 14. It's in walking distance to East Nanjing Rd without all the noise. You can also walk to the Bund really easily.
The staff are super friendly and speak English well. Breakfast was ok-good as it was included, no complaints there.

The ambience of the hotel was really good all through out the hotel, the
interior design from the lobby to the reception to the restaurants and
especially the rooms is outstanding.
The staff were very helpful and eager to serve in whatever way they can. From helping to arrange sightseeing tours or mapping out places to go, or picking up a taxi.
The staff spoke very good english, especially the concierge.

We had a 2 bed room apartment with a study in 18th floor. The apartment
was indeed big, bright, clean, and very nice with the dark wooden floor
(do note however that Chinese count the square metres differently than
in Europe, they count in all public places, 160 m2 in China are around
100 m2 in Europe). The beds were quite comfortable. The garden was also
very nice.

Hotel location is in a good part of the city. The stuff is doing everything to satisfy customers. At first, we have been located to a room that we didn't like.
