Hostel Campo Base is well located, very clean and the dormitory accommodation is reasonably spacious. The lockers provided are large, the dorms have a good sized en suite and the beds are very comfortable. Contrary to what the letsbookhotel.com web site says, breakfast is included and is excellent; the hostel will happily make up a take-away if you have an early departure. Wifi is available in all parts and is fast. The stand out feature of the hostel is its staff. With special memotion for Mij.
alle vurderinger » The 4 person dorm room I stayed in was spotlessly clean as was the adjacent bathroom. The bedding was of a good quality, with a homely addition of a cushion and a towel laid out on the bed. Breakfast was a buffet, that included a fruit salad; eggs were available to cook as you wish. A very homely, quiet atmosphere; the hostel was situated only 2 mins walk from Caracoles main Street. Everything was perfect. The location was very good, the room was comfortable, warm and clean and the shower was very hot (importante information for those who goes to San Pedro on winter!). The whole staff was pretty attentive, they helped us booking all tours and transfers in advance and they are very nice people. The breakfast is also really good! I have nothing to complain about. I've never stayed in a hostel so clean and organized...impressed. The dormitory I stayed has an in-suite bathroom which was really nice (clean towel, shampoo &shower gel were also provided). Breakfast was ok and you can cook by yourself as many eggs as you want. The tour package they provided was really nice and of same price from the tour operator. You can see why this hostel has good reviews! The building seems new and is very clean. The beds were comfy with nice duvets (we were in a dorm). The breakfast was the best I've had in South America! The staff were incredibly helpful, even making a packed breakfast for the people who left early in the morning. Highly recommend!. We booked a private room with ensuite and it was a good size room and bathroom. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was nice and they allow you to make your own eggs. Staff were nice, but the owner seemed to have a chip on his shoulder and he's hard to read. Otherwise, a great place to stay in San Pedro de Atacama. Staff was very nice and helpful! You can book Tours in the Hostal. We learned to know other people at once. Very clean, especially if you put regard on the dusty roads in San Pedro- it was by far the cleanest Hostal in which we have been on our Trip trough Chile/ Argentina. Great hostel!!! The price, but to be fair, all accomodation in San Pedro de Atacama is overpriced. One day no warm water for the shower- but it was fixed immediately. (So positive). our bathroom was old and should be renovated, quite expensive compared to other hotels in chile (maybe not for san pedro, i don't know). Room (for 2 people) was a bit small, but we were aware of that, as the bigger room was more expensive. No heating in room. One morning hot water ran out after a quick shower. WiFi signal poor in room but good in reception area. Not a single thing about the hostal to be honest but the city is as expensive as it gets. location in general is good, but if need to walk alone at night, can be not very comfortable. Just one small thing directions to the hostel would be good in the confirmation email. Many people get lossed when arriving at the bus station me included. No invoice was given to us at the end of the trip when we paid, which I would have appreciated to receive without even asking for it. internet very slow (but improved a bit when it became quieter in the hostel), many showers have trouble with hot/cold water. Bit of a muddle with the transfer but got it sorted in the end... Staff wasn't very helpful when I asked a few questions about the area and other facilities they didn't have on site as a laundry. every thing ok. I stayed at the rooms very close to the reception and where the computers in which people uses are installed. As the acoustic is not so good, at night this can be a problem because stays very noisy. The staff always seemed grumpy! They may not have been but it was a tough crowd with those guys. The bed was noisy and quite uncomfortable. If you had breakfast late, the kitchen was a total mess from previous diners. Bath and shower of room #4.
