  This place is a real gem. No one could visit and not appreciate the care and thought that has gone into the design and attention to detail, especially in the bay-facing rooms, with their balconies and spacious, comfortable rooms. This was a genuinely laid-back stay, with all needs catered for and a delicious breakfast freshly-prepared each morning... hva folk sier » . We spent plenty of time in the pousada (guest house) simply relaxing in the huge lounge downstairs, with its paintings and shelves full of books. H - Love it, love it, love it.  You have to make this your base for Salvador.... Stunning place, really nicely decorated with every detail thought about. Super friendly staff full of lots of tips and hints about the town.  It is the love and attention they put into everything which shines through -  arranged a super friendly collection from the airport, welcomed with a fresh juice, room upgraded,  Great breakfast.thank u for a wonderful stay.

  We stayed at the Solar do Carmo for 2 nights in March. The hotel is situated quite close to the old town on a street of renovated colonial style buildings. Some of the surrounding houses have yet to be renovated but don't be put off by the exterior. Inside the hotel is a lovely spacious reception area, decorated in a traditional style. It was a lovely spacious room with a nice balcony overlooking the ba - I cannot imagine a hotel that could better reflect the most charming aspects of Salvador. Levi provided the friendliest service I have experienced in my extensive worldwide travels. I strongly agree with all the positive things that Christina of Carnago, Italy has reported in her review.

  We just loved our stay. Everything was made to make our stay lovely with small attentions. For example we were on honeymoon and when we arrived in our room, there were red petals on the floor, a bottle of local champagne and some fresh fruit in the room.
