The room was excellent. The king size bed was very comfortable and the sheets very nice. The bathroom eas very well designed and practical, the spa was not severe and was soothing. The ambiance was good and relaxed. Just what you need when you escape work for a few days off. Hastings Street is still good , not over commercialized like the Gold Coast. The renovations are fabulous and our room was huge. Everything was beautifully done and we received great servcie with a smile from all staff. Fabulous pool for kids.

Great location and pleased to be located on river side of hotel. Vouchers instead of room cleaning a great idea. Comfortable beds Excellent breakfast at restaurant Very close to beach and shops. Rooms newly renovated,great spot on Hastings St,great restaurant,friendly staff. walking distance to beach cafes shopping no need to use car. The room was amazing. The hotel may not have been full, but a couple in the next room could be heard during the throngs of sexual activity, so maybe the walls are a little on the thin side. There was very little we didn't like except that we were given a King Bed consisting of two King Singles pushed together ! Yuk! They changed our room when we complained. They could not have been more helpful. We ordered breakfast in the room as my son had a suurfing lesson each day at 9am. The first day it arrived 15 minutes late so we were a bit rushed and the next day it hadn't arrived by 8.50 am even though we ordered it between 8 and 8.15am so I cancelled. We at breakfast out after that. The staff were friendly and reflected the relaxed QLD style, but as a visitor and a impatient Sydney sider, I had a different sense of urgency, but maybe I just need to take a chill pill... Cocktails at the pool need to be much colder - not enough ice in them. None. We checked in at 2:30pm hoping our room would be ready and it wasnt. so we were told someone would call when it was ready as check in was 3pm. At 430 we went back cause we were tired of waiting. Bit slack i think. The same girl was on the desk when we checked out and didn't even remember us. Leaving. There was nothing as far as the property itself. It was 5 star all the way. No compendiums in the room. Paying for parking as an extra information regarding booking - i.e. breakfast included with room rate - for some reason hotel staff not aware and I had to waste time showing them booking emails etc.. rates too high. In room menu very disappointing and WAY too expensive. The noise from building works, the spa wasn't open. The cost was not worth it. the pool bar closed too early. The excessive charge for car parking.... for the cost you pay for the room , this was outrageous. There are renovations going on that the are not told about prior to booking. Work was being done on our floor plastic and work gear in corridor. Not good when you pay $260 per night for a room.
