This is my second time staying at Monterey Bay Suites. My husband and I really enjoy this hotel because of the location (it's on the end of the beach that is quiet and caters to a more upscale clientele), the friendly service from the members of the front desk and the cleaning staff, the very filling breakfast, the pools (one on the 10th floor and 2 others on the ground floor), and the access to the beach. The hotel is also very close to all of Myrtle Beach's main attractions, so it never takes.
alle beoordelingen » I liked the the fact that it was budget friendly, yet it had everything we needed. The staff were friendly. Our room was always cleaned promptly, and was done neatly. The food was good. Lots of pool space, and access to the beach. We are bikers and they allowed us to take our bikes up to our rooms, where we could put them out in the balcony. loved our stay in Myrtle beach at Monterey Bay Resort .... Beautiful view great pools and easy access to the beach. Hot breakfast served free each morning was very nice too. Staff was very friendly and helpful can't wait to go back. Very nice facilities. I travelled with 4 other women on a girls retreat. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Nothing really that I would change. We were satisfied with only known free "hot" breakfast in myrtle beach. Everything was very good, the room was ready when promised, the view was gorgeous, the staff was excellent and answered any questions, & the complimentary breakfast was very good. I would stay here again. I was so impressed with the staff! They are what helped make our anniversary weekend a success! Location was perfect! Extremely close to everything! Can't wait to go back & bring the kids next time. The location is perfect. It has direct access to the beach. The rooms are a great size for a group and everything was clean and well put together. They also had a great pool and spa area. I asked about the charges. Later I received a call and was informed there was a $50 over charge. I appreciated the fact Monterey staff took the time to recheck. No complaints. The beach view and Resort was great.Was our 1st trip to Myrtle Beach since moving to NC. 3yrs. ago. I liked how easy it was to check in and out very simple...front desk staff friendly and maid service...clean rooms and not too heavy on the pocket. Right on the beach, restaurants close by we walked everywhere did not move the car from check in to check out. breakfast was a pleasant surprise. All the staff were very polite. We enjoyed the beach area, pool, and room. Our 8 year old grandson loved the magic show and the lazy river. The staff were extremely nice and went out of their way to make you feel at home. Many hotels in the area have parking facilities that are across the street from the hotel, thus making it difficult to transport one's belongings. The elevators seemed slow. The only real negative was the parking garage was kind of tight but I still like that they have one for their guests to park in and maybe not enough elevators for all thr floors they have. The elevators were extremely slow and parking was awful. Parking is bad at almost every hotel on the beach but you dont have the option of parking on the street here. You have to use their extremely tight, maze of a garage that people so many people have damaged their cars in. Anything bigger than a sedan will never be able to turn in this garage without a scratch. letsbookhotel.com stated no monies would be deducted from my card until check- in. Monterey deducted a $207 deposit right away. I booked through them b/c I didn't have the funds at the time of booking. Anyway things worked out. Can't complain too much. The beds. kind of noisy, very kid friendly. timeshare offers. not enough elevators very busy all the time and stopped at every floor even if no one there. Slow elevator. The parking deck was awful!. nothing. Waiting for the elevator, but it was understandable given the fact that we were on the 16th floor which we chose. The view was beautiful and worth the wait on the elevator. I did not like parking to close quarters for a SUV .l did not like elevators sometimes would take longer than I liked. room not real clean, check under bath room vanity, old dirt, crowded bed to main closet. Ran out of toilet paper, no spare was left, 2nd day there.. The WiFi was terrible! We could barely get service. And the parking garage was a nightmare. The concierge desk was actually a "front" for selling time- share properties. Had to wait till 3 to check in. Wish it was soon. none. the location having to drive to other attractions. Would like to see special rates for previous visitors. Cafeteria style breakfast buffet Room setup/design - the beds werer at the front of the suite at the entrance. No hot water 2 days. The hotel was crowded, but no more then it would be in season, Was it an equipment failure? There were electrical problems during our 6 day stay. Slamming doors to be sure they closed. when out of washcloths, were told.will bring later, never got them. the long wait for the elev. I didn't like parking space and ramp. My car was draping on ramp. nothing. Parking. We had to call front desk about clean towels a few times. The add for the location is very misleading they are not located on the strip or anywhere near skywheel they are 20 minutes away from everything. I did not like standing at the check-in counter being repeatedly told "we will be right there" as your staff carried out their conversation. We waited 5+ minutes. At check in there was no information given about the area- which we found out 2 days later we were supposed to get a welcome packet. Breakfast buffet-pitiful. Went to the beach, when we came back the main doors were locked (cleaning-setting-up), had to walk around the building through the garage. The parking deck. Room was not ready on time, room very small breakfast staff rude. The pictures on site appeared to have been taken in the past. Rooms are starting to be outdated and sofa in living area was dirty. Needs some furniture replaced. Rooms were outdated, room safe did not work, the coneigre wasn't too friendly (and late). Had to go to the front desk just to get someone to come clean my room on the 2 nd day of my trip. Smoke smell in room right after bike week. Room was dingy,sub par daily cleaning. Everything was outdated. Room had mold growing on ceiling. House keeping staff was careless about room cleaning and didn't show up most days. Elevators were terribly slow!!! Had to practically 'beg' for clean towels DAILY. sink in bathroom did not drain the water could not bush my teeth because the sink was full of water .while taking a shower the water didn't drain and I had to cut my shower short due to the fact that there was a foot of water in the tub that would not drain . Didn't like that there was a 19 in tv in the bedroom. Room, beds and carpet were well worn. rooms to small and laid out poorly for the price.
