Location cannot be beaten, for access to Fisherman's Wharf (one entrance is right on the wharf), with the tram stop right across from this entrance, car hire a few metres down the road, and the cable car a block away. The rooms were quiet and the beds were comfortable-- slept great! Very convenient to wharf and other attractions. Thomas in reception was so helpful on the phone when we were on the way in traffic and trying to find out fastest way to get to hotel and on to pier 33 for our Alcatraz night tour. They also helped us book an airport shuttle for one person in our party.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn Fisherman's Wharf was great. We had a clean, tidy room that was serviced daily. We were a block walk away from where our hop on hop off bus departed from. Location was great! Just 5min walk to Pier 39.
A lot safer area to stay than where people from our tour were staying (Union Square area) as there were very few

The location is perfect for those who want to explore San Fran on foot.
Chinatown, Little Italy, Lombard St, Fisherman's Wharf, Ghirardelli
Square, and the Marina are all within a 10-15 minute walking distance.
Take bus 49 from outside the hotel and you can take a quick ride
($2/day pass) to go visit the Painted Ladies or Japan Town. There is
great food nearby and tours that go to the bridge and beyond. The hotel
itself is very clean, with nice staff and great pricing for this area.

The holiday inn express was in an ideal location to explore san francisco-
the staff were always helpful and made some very useful suggestions for
our stay in the city.The rooms were a good size always kept clean with

I always stay here when in San Francisco. It's a great location and I always feel safe and comfortable. There's breakfast and the staff is very nice. You can't beat the price either. -

I'm not sure why this hotel doesn't get better reviews. My
girlfriend and I stayed for two days and had a great experience. The
staff was friendly, the location was great, room was clean and updated.
We stayed in room 404, which I highly recommend. There was a private
full balcony off the room that provided a complete unobstructed view of

Terrific suite with fantastic view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Welcoming
and helpful staff. Convenient parking, although daily charge of $25 plus
tax seemed a little high. Good continental breakfast, with fresh fruit,
pastries, and bagels, bread, preserves etc. Great location for walking
to Fishermans Wharf etc, or the great value bus into the city.

Pacific Heights Inn is a true gem. We have stayed at this hotel 3 times - in 1999, 2004 and now in 2013 and each time the place was just right!It's not a "fancy place" but it's not a dive at all. Quaint and comfortable.

The Staff. Ernesto checked us in and he went out of his way to ensure a
very good room for us. Also suggested some great ideas on what to do.
Jonah in the morning was extremely efficient meeting our needs as wells
as other clients. He was very professional and made calls to secure a
bike activity we were to undertake. Finally Tony on check out was very

Beautiful hotel in the best location. The rooms are very clean and the staff is amazing. The hotel is located by really nice cafes and great restaurants, although I would stay away from the Italian restaurant right next door. Bad service and not very good. On the other hand, the cafe/bakery on the other side of the entrance is really good. -

Out of context the rate seems a little bit expensive... But we compared
with so many other hotels in the area, and I really think this was the
best hotel for this price range! The location was amazing - north beach
on one side and chinatown on the other; walking distance to

I did like they offered breakfast which other hotels in the area
didn'T. Breakfast was simple: cereals, breads, juices, boiled eggs.
The price was good compared to others in the area. I liked the location,
I wouldn't normally stay in "china town" but I enjoyed the
experience. One street over is North Beach, which isn't a
"beach". More appropriate name should be "little
italy"; very good italian restaurants. I would stay here again if
the prices stayed the way they were.

Hotel was like an Oasis off the busy Lombard St. Get a courtyard facing room and its very quiet. We initially had a street facing room which was loud but not unbearable, especially later on in the evening. Staff at the hotel did offer us earplugs if we needed them. The entire property is lovely and maintained well. The room was pristine
and charming. I wish we had been off the street in the courtyard, but
that is something we will do next time we come into town. The parking
was a huge bonus and the proximity to the bus line made it possible to
just leave the car parked the entire time we were in the city! What a
jewel! P.S. when I forgot my prescriptions at home, the front desk
person helped me get them replaced there in the city, and even looked up
