This charming family-run hotel has a great restaurant and a wonderful, peaceful location on Whitby’s West Cliff, near the seafront and within walking distance of the town centre.

Owned and run by three generations of the Newton family since 1946, the Saxonville Hotel offers a warm, friendly welcome and a high standard of personal service.

With a 3-star rating from the AA and VisitBritain, this elegant hotel offers comfort and hospitality just a short stroll from the narrow streets and winding alleyways of this delightful, historic town.

All of the en suite rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished to high standards. Each spacious room has a TV, radio, telephone, hairdryer, and tea/coffee making facilities.

A generous and tasty full English breakfast is included in the price.

The Fairfield Restaurant offers traditional English food, with a choice of à la carte or table d’hôte menus. Whichever menu you choose, you can finish your meal with a mouth-watering dessert from the special traditional sweet trolley.

The hotel has a private car park and free parking is available for guests.

Beoordelingen - Saxonville Hotel

This was our first stay at this hotel - actually our first stay in Whitby. The service in reception upon arrival was exceptional, and in the restaurant, morning and evening, was speedy, yet with good humour. The menus were interesting and varied and we would recommend a stay at the Saxonville to anyone who values a well-run establishment with the service of a standard which is quite rare nowadays. My wife and I had not a single criticism to make. - Stephen


Have just returned from a short break in Whitby with my elderly parents. I could not fault the Saxonville Hotel. friendly , attention to detail and excellent food. The hotel was spotlessly clean everywhere and had the added bonus of a private car park. Will definitely be making a return visit. - Margaret
