Having normally called reviewers massive saddos looks like I'm becoming one of them, but I felt this place needed a helping hand from the "Oooh light coming through the door" "Ooohcreaky floorboard" bellends that have previously reviewed. It's a 15th Century inn, not a ruddy 2008 built Mercure.

Stayed for a few nights on business as I was working locally in Shepton Mallet. The Dusthole was ideal in that it was within the budget I had been given for bed, breakfast and evening meal (a meagre £75 per night). The food was of a high standard, all locally sourced (not a Brakes Brothers/3663 lorry in sight!) and cooked to order on the premises. Relaxed and laid back atmosphere was great, could float around in our spa gowns and slippers. Lovely room, breakfast was amazing. Some spa hotels have a strict check in at 3pm and leave by 11am, Charlton House were happy to let us use the spa for as long as we liked both on day of arrival and departure. We liked the 'shabby chic' feel of the place. Even though the
Mulberry fabrics and furnishings were a bit 'tired' in certain
places - it did not seem to matter too much as it added to the charm of
the place. Important details such as good quality linen/

The beautiful stone listed building was cut from a quarry (Quarr) and is entirely individual, not in the least a square building - nooks, crannies, walkways and the most beautiful garden. It so happens we stayed in May and the wisteria was in full bloom in the late spring we've had this year. Large room, fresh milk for tea-making, lovely biscuits! The owners are extremely welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. Although I was on my own, I instantly felt safe and at home. I enjoyed a glass of cider with them in the evening.
The place is very clean and the bed was so comfortable.
The kitchen was well stocked with food and drink for breakfast.

The owners are friendly and were very helpful when we asked for information on places to eat and drink in the evening. Our room was very comfortable and had a tv and wi-fi.
