  The hotel was very comfortable and welcoming. Soft leather chairs and twinkly lights. The room was excellent with quality fittings and nights sleep. No noise at all through to the room and it was Christmas party time. Continental breakfast was really wholesome so much so that my husband didn't miss his usual cooked breakfast.   Choosing accommodation in a city that you are unfamiliar with is always hard. We chose well as this hotel is brilliantly located in the "old " city right off the Royal Mile. The room was spacious bright and colourful with lots of lovely added extras including free movies,mini bar drinks, robes and slippers.   Everything about this hotel was incredible - we found ourselves wanting to stay longer - Gaia at the front desk reception was so very helpful, friendly and enthusiastic about the property. Our room was spacious and included anything one might need for extended stays. Very central location at the 'Lawnmarket' on the 'Royal Mile' in the Old Town, in the shadow of the castle itself - great for sight- seeing most within a very short walking distance and only a short bus ride to others.

Though rooms were small, they were well appointed, efficiently arranged and meticulously kept. The staff was stellar, the restaurant exceptional and the location as perfect as could be. It is 20 minutes away from the main tourist attractions (the Castle, Whiskey Museum, Princess Street). There is a parking near by (literally the building close to the hotel). Very easy to find from the train station. Elevator available (although it's soo slow). Free WiFi was very smooth (although only in the common area). Helpful staff, suggested me alternatives of transport and calling a cab for me. Comfy bed, love the comforter. Surprisingly the room is quite sound-proof from the noise from the street. Nice bathroom with handheld shower! Free map provided.
