  Great location - close to everything for sightseeing and nightlife but a quiet street for sleeping/relaxing. We were in C Balsa - just a minute or two from C Cadiz and less than 5 minutes from Sol, Major, Anna etc. The apartment was 5th floor but had a lift to the 4th. Great to have the roof terrace. Centre of everything! Everything is within a mere 15mins away~ Person in charge - Carlos is a very humorous n friendly guy! Gave us v gd recommendations n also orientation of our surroundings. A Chinese saying goes: although a sparrow is small, it is sufficient n have everything.

  Absolutely loved everything about this place. On arrival the staff were incredibly helpful. The apartment was immaculately clean, very spacious for 5 of us, and of a high standard. We're approximately 10 metres from The main square and from the main night club where we spent our time! Absolutely fab! - Helpful lovely staff, a fantastic location a... wat mensen zeggen » nd a nice building, well-equipped, clean and cosy. We were in the duplex apartment; great value for money and a perfect bolt-hole for my sister and I right in the middle of Madrid. Didn't even mind the five flights of stairs!

  We stayed one night at the Plaza Mayor and wished our stay in Madrid was longer. The hotel is an old traditional building with charming features. Our room was a good size with everything we needed. The bed was so comfortable. and everything was spotlessly clean. It was so close to the wonderful Plaza too and near many good restaurants.   We stayed here just one night here after our flight arrived in Madrid and we needed a hostel that was affordable and within walking distance to the train station for our early departure the next morning. It's not a fancy building on an attractive boulevard, but it's within a short walking distance to the train station, which is all - It's an hostal, not an hotel. Said that, everithing was really good: WiFi decent, clean room (they clean it every day) and the staff is very helpful. Position is very good: really close to atocha, to the retiro gardens, the Prado, the modern art museum.. And close to city centre as well. In case in the district there are too different bars/pubs..

  The host and her daughter are really kind people; however, their English skills are limited. I felt like I was staying with family. There is WiFi included so that's a big plus. The hostel overlooks a street with a few clubs/bars so it can get noisy at night. Keep in mind there are three shutters that you can close between your room and the noise o... wat mensen zeggen » utside. This helps minimize the sound. Though I suggest ear plugs for any traveling since you never know how thin the walls might be. The hostel is ar - The host was really nice. Even though he can't speak English, he tried to explain everything and helped us to find some good place near by. The room was also quite large and comfortable for two people to stay. I would love to recommend this place to those who want to stay in Madrid!
