It was a very good location in the heart of the city and don't take any notice of guide books that tell you that this is an area to be avoided. It was very nice and safe both during the day and late evening.   It was always clean. They could speak english and they were very nice and helpful. Very close to the metro and many stores. It was easy to walk around and see how really Madrid looks like everyday. I will stay in this Hostel every time I go to Madrid, that is for sure. - Excellent location a short walk from Gran Via metro .
