  We were very surprised about the quality of both the dinner and breakfast buffet. We were expecting mediocre, standard tourist fare so we were very happy that the food was much better. The tofu served for breakfast was sublime!

  Room was spacious, quiet and had a beautiful view to the forest, cliffs and river behind the hotel. We stayed in the Japanese style room with tatami and futons, and they were probably the most comfortable futons we'd slept on during our time in Japan.   The hostel is full of information. You can find information about sounkyo easily. The location is not too far from bus stop but we arrive there at night time so it is a bit difficult to find. Luckily there is a taxi offer us a lift for free. The hostel is like typical Japanese style hostel: wooded made, shared bath room but I can't find basin for ... wat mensen zeggen » washing face. The beds are clean and comfy. We stayed in 4-p dorm room. There are bikes and i think for free (I don't see rent cost) you can borrow hi - a small hostel which is located conveniently for access to the mountains. good food and access to a wonderful onsen in the hotel next door.
