  This is a great alternative option for staying overnight in Naoshima (very recommended for seeing all the sights which is difficult in one day). The host is incredibly friendly - speaks English & French. He helped us rent bikes around the corner at the port and took us to pick them up. This end of the island is very quiet - great bar (with fre... wat mensen zeggen » e wifi) & cafe around the corner at the port open until 2am but morning food options difficult to find. Easy and gorgeous bike ride to Benesse Hou - The gardens surrounding the house, ( and easily viewed from the room) were gorgeous. The room was large and open, with antique ( though a little worn) hand painted paper screens. The couple who owned the residence were very kind and helpful and made themselves available most of the time.

  I really enjoyed my stay at Yado Seven Beach. Really kind and helpful host and excellent location, very close to Ferry port where you can hire a bicycle, the best way to explore the island. Also great area for relaxing at the wonderful unique "I love Yuu" bathhouse, and I also highly recommend cosy NaoPAM cafe for amazing fish and tasty home-made ... wat mensen zeggen » beer ! Also the fun James Bond museum is just around the corner. - Less than five minutes to the ferry terminal serving Uno and Takamatsu. This is a quiet hostel with decent sized rooms (by Japanese standards). Staff are friendly and helpful, and allowed us to drop our things off and have a shower when we arrived hours early from an overnight ferry.
