  We spent 2 nights in El Calafate, wished could have stayed longer to extend the stay at La Cantera. Service was perfect, Giorgina in particular made our stay soo easy, smooth and hassle free that made us happy to be there. Recommendations for excursions were right, breakfast was very good (ask my gf for the homemade cakes), room big and clean. The tours organised through the hotel were cheaper than those we had researched online. Thanks!

  We loved this place!! The good at the restaurant was excellent, nice to have scrambled eggs for breakfast too for a change. Beds were so comfy, clean rooms, hot showers.. Nice view of the ranch and also loved the lounging area. Walk to town was about 15 to 20 minutes.

  We are a couple from Mexico in our fisrt trip to Calafate. We found Hosteria Meulen wonderful and clean. Hostesses were very nice and always worried about our satisfaction.   Exceedingly nice for the price, very relaxed, tremendous restaurant right in the building, walking distance to main street and casino, much better than we anticipated. Staff spoke adequate english, and could help with our trip arrangements (taxis and buses, tours).

Staff speaks very little English but helped me with many things with my broken Spanish ( did a great job with laundry and reasonably priced, taxi in the morning, booking me for another day, holding my suitcase while I travelled elsewhere for a night.

  Perfect hotel. We will go there again if we visit El Calafate. The hotel owners were very friendly. The man drove us to and back the city centre for free (free hotel service!). The wife cooked for us whatever we wanted. And it tasted very good. Ask her lamb stew with patato's.
