I stayed here while visiting my daughter who lives in York and I found this hotel to be lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly. At the bar the service was excellent and the breakfast (a buffet) had something for everyone's taste. The hotel was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. I had a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the road, a nightclub across from it, but it didn't bother my nights sleep in the least. The shower was lovely (a walk in shower) and very roomy. The staff are amazingly friendly and really made us feel welcome. Everyone was cheerful, helpful and all round nice. It felt more like a family hotel than a chain hotel (and I mean that as a positive comment.)

with three boys, they all had their own beds
As a family of 5 we were in one room, the boys were in a separate room within our room

Pool was clean and excellent facility, especially in poor weather, towels provided
Ensuite was good sized, we have had some tiny ones in the past
We were able to open the windows to control temperature, fresh air
Breakfast was excellent, good choice and flexible

( i ordered every night of my stay). just in front of the river, i had the river veiw. it was great.

the staff from our arrival were more than helpfull, and went out there way to find us a nice resturant to eat in and made the reservation for us. the hotel and the staff were brilliant! - The location and view from our room was excellent as was the room itself. The staff were friendly and informative and the restaurant and bar were both good.

I loved everything about the hotel. Every member of staff was reallyhelpful and quite lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The bookingout time of 12 noon was realistic and breakfast between 7 and 11 wascertainly more civilised than some hotels. I would certainly staythere again. - Great location, friendly and helpful staff, clean and modern rooms
