Everything, the staff were very friendly and very well mannered from the cleaners to the manager, it was very clean, the food fantastic, the rooms wonderful, just brilliant in every way. second visit and again room was fantastic. couldn't meet a nicer proprietor in Pauline. Very welcoming and friendly.. the best cooked breakfast my hubby ever had (and he's stayed in many a b&b/guesthouse)..having dvd player in room is an added bonus....big thumbs up from gillian and scott.. see you again soon -

Steve and Cath gave me such a warm welcome, and were happy to help wherever needed. Including making me a packed breakfast when I had to leave very early. Nice little place to get our head down after a long tiring day wedding planning. Perfect for what we needed and would definitely recommend for our wedding guests in June 2014. Breakfast was superb. Lovely couple who own the place were nice enough to chat with us and give advice on the area.

The staff were very friendly, the room was very clean and comfortable and very good value for money. I also liked the fact that the hotel was quiet at night so was easy to get a good nights sleep. - The hotel staff were clearly understaffed however they were always verypolite and friendly to us.

Hosts were very friendly welcoming on arrival. we had two rooms and both very comfortable and equipped. Beds extremely comfy. Breakfast in the morning was exceptional! very tasty and well presented. we couldn't fault a thing and would happily stay again and recommend to friends. -

We wanted a value-for-money place where we could arrive late and this was perfect. We had a double and 2 single rooms (allowing our grown-up sons not to share) for the same price as the budget chains with good facilities. Sleeping in the annex we were able to park outside the rooms.

Staff really friendly and helpful. Happy to arrange for me to have meals in room due to having my spaniel along, and even supplying a snack for said dog! When I was delayed due to poor weather, staff waited up for my arrival and gave me a lovely warm welcome at the end of a difficult trip. Basically, make me feel as if I'm visiting with friends.

The room & ensuite bathroom (and general surroundings) were clean, the bed was soft & comfortable and it was absolutely roasting in the room when we arrived (never a bad thing!). Both Isabell and Phillip were lovely hosts..they were made for running a B&B. Breakfast was served fresh on our plates each morning. Conveniently located just across the road from Gretna Green station for those using trains, and about a 10 minute walk to the Famous Blacksmith's Shop.
