  Definitely the location + the kindness of the lady who was taking care of the space. She is so friendly and so helpful. You kind of feel yourself sharing home with 'old friends' and not really in a hostel. I only stayed over for a night but it was enough to feel the spirit of the place.   This is a brand new hostel, you can literally smell the paint from the walls very nice and large common area it is located perfectly, very close to some famous Gaudi houses and Catalunya square. The hotel stuff was reasonable friendly, but it was enough, all our questions were answered. The place is just great, you could easily reach Sagrada Familia or la Rambla by foot.   We enjoyed our stay here! Very homely and the staff we very accommodating especially with all our tourist questions. Very close to Las Ramblas and all the fun. Its location very in the city center; very convenience to walk around in the city, to take a bus, to take a metro/train. The bus and metro stations are just around the corner. They really make us feel like at home staying at Backpacker House Bcn. - Excellent positioning - 2 min on foot from a shopping area/Starbucl/Universitat Metro and max 10-15 min on foot from Placa de Catalunya and La rambla. It saves you a lot of time if you want to visit places and don't like to spend too much time in the subway or with your map trying to see where the nearest subway is. The personell is very nice and the places looks pretty well.
