The hotel is very central and is quite lovely. It has everything that
you need. The view is absolutely stunning. It is close to Ushaka and the
Sun Coast Casino. If you do not want to use your car there are the
"People Mover" buses that you can travel on. The room was
pleasantly comfortable and quite spacious. The breakfast had a wonderful
selection to choose from.

the staff was exceptionally friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. the rooms are spacious and the bed are really comfortable. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel and we can safely say all the meals were gourmet meals which we thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you Gateway holiday for a wonderful stay -

I stayed at the Tropicana in December 2010 and was not impressed at all. During my last stay I notced a remarkable improvement, i.e refurbishment, staff, etc. Well done! -
The fact that it is on the beach front and our bus just dropped us at the door, that was awesome. Value for money as well.

The special treats at night by closing the curtains, open of beds and
chocolates were very special and a nice touch. The design and re-use of
an old building is such a clever idea and most pleasing to the eye. The
chef at breakfast as well as supper and presentation was excellent.

The venue is situated at the habour, so we could view the activities of
the harbour which was interesting. The venue is also very peaceful and
quite, so if you want to relax, away from the "city in the
city", this is ideal. We also loved the lounge area outside in the
courtyard, so if you want to have your meal or drinks outside the
restaurant, it makes it an excellent option.

Me, my hubby and 2 year old son had a fantastic stay @ the Coastlands on the ridge hotel. The hotel and rooms (big wow) are elegant and beautifully decorated (we had deluxe room) plus the view from the balcony looking out over durban is stunning. The staff were absolutely wonderful with my son, friendly and always helpfull especially @ reception (

Excellent young staff at all points.They seem to want to help rather than just provide service. The arrival & departure was warm. Even the security person in the car park wanted to do something to please.The young people in the reception and dining room were excellent.

The general ambience of the hotel. With the exception of 1 member of staff we were very impressed with the way in which staff had been trained and the way in which they attended to every need of their guests. I was impressed with Tosca's attentiveness - she asked where I would like to go and brought out a map to help me. I felt very well looked after. Then in the morning I had breakfast and the manager (forgot his name) was talkative and friendly and I enjoyed the breakfast. -

the technology applied to comfort was amazing. Also, the personal attention of Ana was very important. We expected problems with our credit card and she was very helpful and patient.
