We've spent about 8 weeks in St. Petersburg over the past 5 years as
students, and our dorms were located in old Soviet apartment blocks; so
this hotel was a welcomed change for our short visit back to Peter!! The
hotel was very clean, which surprised me as most of St. Petersburg is on

A very correct hotel, with extremely large bar/ dining room complex
and a pub open late. Excellent food in that pub (which is a rare thing
to find in that town). Excellent coffee, and plenty of space to
comfortably read a paper. Location is excellent - not right at the
center with all its tourist traps but a little kickback at calm
Vasilevsky Island. A very good place on the whole although on the
expensive side.

Response staff - When we reported AC problems someone arrived right away, checked the settings, and we received a call offering to relocate us to a room with working AC. Also used the concierge services and it worked well.

This place is absolutely recommended. It is right by a canal and views are beautiful, even when you are having breakfast (which is also very complete by the way). Besides it is very easy to get to the center from there and metro stations are very close if you want to move farther away. This hotel is really a bargain given its quality.

The Anchikov has only a few rooms and the staff really treat all of their guests like a kings and queens. The hotel is situated very centrally at a walking distance from sights and metro stops. The interior is beautiful, the paintings in passages and rooms a nice touch. My single room was smallish but not at all claustrophobic. The bed was really comfortable with luxurious bedclothes. Hotel is excellent value for money. Good lication - it is far from city center but close to Pulkovo airport, so if you are going to leave for airport in the morning you can avoid traffic jam and predict time to get the airport. Metro station is near the hotel. Rooms are clean and recently renovated. The good beer reastaurant is located in the hotel building and work till 23h. The 24h bar is available in lobby with good choice of drinks and reasonable prices, but no snacks available.

This is the second time I've stayed in this hotel and I will definitely come back again. Location is terrific! All the main attractions and sights are within the walking distance. Good location - close to the river, especially convenient to watch Liteyny bridge raise (it is 1 min walk). Please note that rooms overlooking Liteyny prospekt have the best view, but are noisy.
