The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They gave us many tips on where to go, what to do must see places.
The room was very clean. Even though we just had a room and not an apartment with a small kitchen, we got plates and cutlery without a problem. It is very close to the Old Town of Kotor (2mins walk) with a stunning view of the fortress. Large supermarket just opposite the apartment. ATMs everywhere in the area! Quiet at night time with no street noise. Perfect starting point for bay

What I liked was the quiet atmosphere in the neighbourhood, although the hotel is situated not far away from Kotor and from Perast, which are both easily accessible by car. There is a small and lovely beach in only 3 minutes walk distance, which I found much better than lots of official beach areas. The hosts are really friendly. In case we should visit Montenegro again, this place will be our first choice.

I loved the location of the hotel and the availability of the staff. The rooms are very nicely furnished, the bathrooms are outstanding. The terrace outside of the hotel is one of the nicest places in Kotor to have coffe or glass of wine. The breakfast menu was really good, as well as the menu of the restaurant. A place to recommend!

The hotel staff was simply outstanding! Because the hotel is in the old city of Kotor, parking and access is a bit of walk. Be aware that it is a cobble stoned city so it's difficult to carry a lot of luggage from the parking lot through the old city gates but the hotel staff was more than willing to take care of it for you. The staff were incredibly helpful and attended to our every need. The surroundings were comfortable and luxurious, but not ostentatiously so, and the hotel is centrally located. We had dinner and breakfast on the rooftop dining hall, and the food was delicious and service impeccable. Hippocampus is a wonderful example of a boutique hotel, thank you!

- Fantastic location within the old city walls inside which there is only pedestrian traffic - no cars, so you might want to take this into account if you have limited mobility or many heavy bags.

Owner/Manager was very friendly and helpful.
Excellent value for money, though I think I was given a bigger, better room than I'd booked due to being low season. I'd booked a single room, but what I actually got was more like a studio apartment with a king-size bed, sofa, huge flat screen TV etc.
Kotor itself is a gorgeous little town. Make the effort to climb up to the fortress for amazing views.
