This was our second stay at Sandos, our first was a few years ago when we got married there. The staff is always amazing, so incredibly friendly and always so cheerful. The entertainment crew is always there to get you up and moving, but they aren't pushy. Chairs at the beach and the pools are plentiful. Tours are easily booked from the hotel. We went to Xcaret on this trip. Playacar is FAR better to stay at than in Cancun, if you ask me. You are in a private gated resort community, there is wildlife on the property without having to 'rough' it (The howler monkeys are adorable!) and since Sandos is at the end of Playacar, there is lots of beach to spread out on. The food is always great, whether you eat at a restaurant that requires reservations or the massive Festival buffet. Wait staff is always attentive while you eat and at the pools/beach. We will definitely be returning there anytime we plan on going to Mexico!
Sandos is pretty big, so they provide golf carts to transport you around the resort. Our last few days there, they were down to one working golf cart, which isn't a problem unless you aren't staying by the beach. Also, the last few days, none of the USD$ ATM's were working, so we had to resort to getting pesos from the front desk. It would have been nice to not be stuck with a lot of pesos before our return home.

White sand and warm sea. Spa facility great but too cold in most areas.
Water in the spa too cold. Jets were working all day but hardly anyone in the pool as too cold. The jacuzzi was wsrm enough though.
