It was the cheap option for a central location to Shinjuku. Observation level of govt building is across the street. You can walk directly to Shin via a subway or take the street. It has many eating options within the hotel should you wish to stay in house. Rooms are small and typical Tokyo style but do the job. Foreigners info desk were really helpful in all matters.

I have never had such a good sleep in my entire life! The bed and the pillows were just heavenly. And the curtains didn't let any light in at all so we could sleep in as late as we wanted on our rest days. It was great! The shower was amazing as well. we stayed in 4 hotels throughout our stay and this one was our favourite. Some people may complain that the rooms were a little small but it didn't bother us at all. if you want a brilliant night sleep with friendly staff then stay here! such a gr

The rooms are very clean, the bed is comfortable and big enough for 1 person (140 cm).
Tip: If you are a non-smoker reservate a deluxe non-smoking room. It costs only a few Euro more but the only way to make sure to get a non-smoking room. These rooms are also located on the 11th floor

Hotel is a quiet and peaceful haven in a busy, interesting area, just
minutes away from many things to see and excellent traditional shopping.
Staff are helpful, although it will help if you can speak a little
Japanese. I have stayed in their tatami rooms before and this time
stayed in a single (western style) room which was spacious for a single.
Good to have free wifi, unlike many hotels. Tip - buy the koto cd at the
reception desk as a memento.

Fantastic location a short walk from Nishi-Shinjuku-gochōme station. The room and bathroom was a reasonable size compared with other Tokyo hotels where there is pretty much just enough room for a bed.
We thought the breakfast was quite good. Start your day with a healthy salad, boiled eggs, toast and a main dish that changed daily. Staff were super friendly. They greet you every single time you walk into the hotel. We made good use of the washing machine, dryer and microwave inside the room.

Very nice pick for a night over between a shinkansen from Nagoya and flight back home. Proximity to Shinjuku station is a great plus, orange building is easy to spot from afar, neighborhood is very clean and safe (as is the rest of Tokyo, for that matter!).
I was traveling with a toddler, she loved the room, it had just enough things to make exploring fun while being completely childproof at the same time.

This was our favourite Hotel during our Japanese trip! Our room (situated ot the 17th floor) was spotlessly clean, equipped with everything we needed and the view was just gorgeous. The staff was really helpful. Tokyo station is reachable by foot (without luggages) accrossing the park, but reachable with metro in 15 minutes using the red and purple (Hanzomon line), the station name is the same (Hanzomon). The great location as the hotel is within walking distance of the Ueno station which has both the JR Keihin-Tohuku and Yamanote lines as well as the Ginza and Hibira subway lines. Ueno station is only 3 stations away from the Tokyo station. It makes getting around Tokyo a breeze. Within walking distance of the hotel are also many eating places around the Ueno vicinity.
The rooms are small as expected in Tokyo but it is very clean. Amenities in the room are more than sufficient.

JAL City was in a great location, just 5 minutes from Tamachi station on the Yamaote line - very convenient to all major destinations. The hotel is very well run, predictable and clean. The hotel is in very very excellent location. After pass from JR Akihabara central exit , turn right , cross the road, you can see the hotel there. We spent the last night here. I made reservation for my Japanese parents (in Tokyo for personnal reasons; we live abroad). They told me they had a great week here. The staff was convinient and very kind, and I can tell that when i call them and speak to them trhough, i thought they were very polite and professionnal. They loved the free amenities!
