Kyoto Ryokan Gion Sano - Foto
Cosa dice la gente
This hotel is a ryokan, or traditional Japanese style inn with tatami
floors and futon beds. The location is ideal and very lovely, in the
middle of the Gion district, with easy access to many key sites, as well
as restaurants and shopping. This excellent ryokan is run by a Japanese
family, who are very friendly and helpful. The young man of the family
speaks English and helped us with reservations and many other things
that required a Japanese speaker. I would highly recommend this hotel. tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
The location is superb for a taste of real Kyoto. Beautiful streets full of temples around. We were in a two-room (suite) japanese room with bathrooom during Gion Matsuri so that price was high but reasonable. This is a family Ryokan and hence lacks services. The dedication and desire to please of the family that runs the hotel highly compensates. I would certainly like to return.
We loved the stay there as everything was great. Friendly staff provide welcome drinks and snacks upon our arrival. It was sweet of them to provide a kid's amenity pack for my young daughter especially the small & cute bedroom slippers. My daughter said she wants to stay there again.
Arrived early and front desk happily took our bags to the room while we
were out. Staff was friendly and helpful. Had hot tea and cantaloupe
slices waiting in our room for us. Room was beautiful. Facilities were
well kept. Room was huge. Strong value.
A very warm and welcoming atmosphere with extremely hospitable staff. Fabulous location as a base point for visiting many of the attractions, temples etc around Kyoto. Easy walking distance to beautiful Gion district and restaurants, shops etc.
Traditional Japanese. Very nice traditional rooms, very clean. The staff is wonderful - very helpful, go out of their way to make you feel welcome, spontaneously deliver snacks to your room (e.g., big fresh strawberries).
stand in Gion district which known by years for their historical castle and geisha
close to famous Ramen, nearby the hotel
traditional but support with current ect such as wifi, elevator, etc.
All staff were very helpful, always trying to assist in every possible way. A warm and happy stay. Surely we would book again next time we visit Kyoto.

Small touches
4 Dogs.
A pity that they cannot offer a breakfast.
It will be better if they provide dinner as optional item as some people adore kaiseki dining in the ryokan.
Front desk would not call local restaurant to make reservations for us.
Only a minor thing but quite tricky to locate on first arrival!.
none.
Only 1 point : the bathroom was a bit small.
The esthetic of the hotel and rooms.
Curfew (could be extended)
